Not General Patton's Registered Magnum & Colt Single Action.....

Resurrecting this thread one final time with my latest Colt SAA and .357 Magnum shooter combination, a 1st generation .38 Colt Special SAA that was shipped from the factory in 1933 (17 years younger than Patton’s silver plated and engraved .45 Colt SAA, but with the same 4-3/4” barrel length and possibly with actual WWII provenance), and a 1940 vintage Non-Reg Mag shipped by the factory to the Oklahoma DPS (5 years younger with the same 3-1/2” barrel as Patton’s Reg Mag, but with a different front sight (Baughman QD vs McGivern).

For more information on the Non-Registered Magnum pictured above see the thread at 3-1/2” Pre-War .357 Magnum (NRM) Shooter

This is the last time that I will resurrect this thread, so let’s see those Peacemaker/.357 Magnum combos that are hidden out there!

The grips on the OP colt are my favorite style ! Love SAA’s especially first generation guns

I have had as many as five at one time, now down to just one. Looking for a nice 43/4 to add at some point.
My current 7&1/2 45 is honestly one of my most inherently accurate handguns. It shoots about as well as my 1911 bullseye gun

Well...this is as close as I can come to Patton's guns. My SAA is a first generation .44 Special/Russian with some natural African tooth material. It was produced in 1920. My RM is a 5 inch ordered by the New Hampshire State Police in 1937.

I last saw some of the Patton's other guns at the homestead in Hamilton, Massachusetts. His son, Major General George S. Patton (1923-2004) along with his wife Joanne Holbrook Patton (1931- 2023) lived there and ran Green Meadows Farm.

Joanne donated the historic home and some land to the city of Hamilton in 2012.

I couldn't decide which Colt went best with the S&W. You decide for me. The 1984 with factory Ivory, the 1901 or 1922??

Assuming the .357 Mag is a late 27-2 or a 27-3, I would go with this pair…..

Lestert357,

I'm a little ashamed to say I don't have a 27 yet..... But it's on the short list. That's my 19-4. A joy to shoot.

I’m out of town, but I’ll post pics when I get home. I’ve got a pre-27 five screw 3.5” and a third gen nickel 357 SAA with a 5.5” barrel. As close as I get.
