What's the last gun you would part with and why? I know it's a tough decision, but which one do you love the most?

I have quite a few that I would not easily part with and value has little to do with it. This Model of 1950 .44 target is one of my favorites. For one, it's pristine. Two, I have the original box, which to me is a biggie. It's a gun that just draws me in because it is beautifully built and feels amazing in my hand.

So, what's yours?

Ps. New forum is awesome. Thank you everybody for pulling this off!

Well, it depends why I'm paring down. If I'm in my dotage and I want 1 gun to ride with me to the end, it's probably the K-22 my father bought in 1955. If some calamity has happened and I can only keep 1 gun, it's probably an AR and a stash of replacement parts.

See the 2 "probably"s? Either of those could be swapped out for a 686-4 or Super Redhawk.

If we’re talking about revolvers, ide probably say my 629-5 NATO Birdsong. It brings a smile to my face each time I touch one off. Accurate and plenty powerful.
If we’re talking about all guns them probably either my Accuracy International AT or my HK91. The AI because it’s supremely accurate and has a great pedigree. The HK because it’s an HK and there’s no more coming in.

Well, It would have to be a rifle. My Pre 64 Model 70 Winchester .30’06 Feather weight with a 2-7 Leupold. It has been a friend for a long time. I have shot more game with it then I would like to remember. If I can have a handgun too. Well then it would be my pre 29 6 1/2” blued .44 Magnum

I can't nail it down to just one. My 15-3 was the first centerfire handgun I ever owned. I've owned it for 35 years. My Winchester Pre-64 model 70 was my father's, then it was my brother's and now it belongs to me. Been shooting it for over 45 years. Neither is going anywhere. I'll sell my liver before either of those guns.

For some reason I can not express, I would never sell my Cimarron Model 3 American. Bought it early on when it was $900 and now it is $1500 through Cimarron. It is the most fun you can have on the range! I can shoot it all day, which is something I would never do with an original. Exactly the same weight and length as original, but chambered in 45 Colt. My second to the last would be my Uberti Schofield, also in 45 Colt. Sure sparks lots of conversations when I am shooting them.

My Old Model Ruger Super Single Six Convertible. It cost me $80 brand new and it was my first handgun.

But this is not a valid question. A person truly needs at least 2.

My second to last gun would be a Pre-27 long barrel that was 60 years old but appeared unfired.

Oh heck, still not valid. My 3rd to last would be a Model 19, which was what I really wanted when I bought the Ruger but couldn't afford it.

I've written about it before and won't bore you with the full story. This Colt Lawman MK III was my engagement gift in 1979 from my first wife, who wanted to make sure I'd come home to her and wasn't confident in the 1922 Browning .32 I was using off-duty.

The gun is the last I'd let go and the wife will also be my last.

I won't part with any of my guns that I like. My heirs will be decided what they will do with them after I have joined the animals over the rainbow bridge. My will will be their guideline.
My Excel sheet shows SN, caliber, bbl length, etc, etc. It also shows price paid, estimated value in 2000, 2005, 2010, etc, etc.

Even if they call in a dealer that takes the whole lot, and offers a price that I paid, it will be a tidy sum. I didn't buy them to make a profit...I bought them for my pleasure. If the ultimate selling price is 50% over cost paid, the dealer will be happy and so will the family.

Of course, I'm sure many will be taken by family members.
