Sorry, but this hurts my eyes…

It does not appeal to me, but I am old and stuck in my ways. I need sights on my revolver. So exactly what is that, a .410? How are you supposed to grip the thing?

This is my favorite. Due to its weight, it comes with little wheels and a string to pull it behind you, like an old timey kid's toy. Other accessories include a flame thrower that uses a Bernzomatic Mag-Torch® Self-Lighting Torch to use it as a flame thrower, and fold-out wings that provide aiming solutions for shooting at aircraft. Oh, did I mention that it's "tactical"...?

Some would argue the 'need' for such a weapon, and I think I know just the thing. I have a cousin who is a licensed 'Captain' and has spent his career guiding both big ships and small boats in oceans around the world. He noted that there are places all over the planet where piracy still exists... and a lot of it in the Caribbean, where pleasure craft gather. This might be a handy tool for the yachtsman to keep aboard to repel boarders. Small, light, won't take up much space in a place where space is limited, and effective at the short ranges involved. Having said that, I wouldn't own one as I think a boat is simply a hole in the water into which you throw lots of money... !

Alright, I'll bite. My comment in 2 parts:
1. This thing is an abomination. It's ugly as fill-in-the-blank. It's a perfect solution to a non-existent problem, the answer to a question nobody asked. Taurus quality is questionable, at best. A .410 revolver is a sales gimmick with no redeeming virtues. My opinion.
2. Everyone is entitled to their own preferences. The ability to shoot all the various types of .410 ammo - slugs, buckshot, fine shot, combination loads - adds versatility to the gun. Taurus quality has gotten better in recent years. Sometimes a person just wants to shoot for fun. People will buy them, and sales of firearms and ammo is good for the economy, for the firearms industry, and thus, for the shooting community. Also my opinion.

I might have made a poor assumption before my first post. So what caliber and/or gauge is it?

I was thinking .460 or .500 S&W.

Yes but, they serve a function for some people. The reviews are pretty good. And if you are rural, they make a pretty good gun to leave in the truck, works for snakes, and critters in the hen house and so on. Also for city dwellers the report they are good inside the house.

Those 410 buckshot are actually great from the handguns, I have the Governor and they are just great shooting. This one is not for me, but I understand why they sell so well.

I have a large collection of SW wheel guns, old and new. About 6 years ago I added the Governor, it takes 45 acp on moon clips, 45 Colt and 410. With the moon clips it is as fast as any wheel gun can possibly be. With the 410, Federal, four 000 Buck, at 50 feet in 6 seconds, I can easily fire all six rounds I get all 24 buck shot inside a 14 inch circle and it is easy to do. Most will be inside a 12 inch circle.

Each of those little buckshot rounds at 70-71 grains and the leave that short barrel at 750-800 fps, every time. Simple, simple ballistics. Every one of those little 2.5 inch buckshot rounds produce 350 on the low end to 400 fpe on the high end. Except, you get 4 different bullet paths with each. About like four 32 acp each time your pull the trigger.

And more power than any regular 45 acp or 9mm or 38 special.

So when somebody says they are worthless, I suggest they actually try one. Go blow up some gallon jugs and compare them to 45 acp or your current carry gun, you will become educated.

I do not use that as a carry gun, but walking in the snake woods or anyplace in the boonies or camping they are a wonderful second gun.

Now ballistically this one with the longer barrel is totally different. The power more than doubles. You can actually get more than 1,000 fpe out of this gun. My 4 inch model 29 in 44 mag gets 800 fpe from Winchester white box, this one gun will far exceed that.

Just saying, any short gun that holds 6 rounds and more than 1,000 fpe each pull of the trigger is not worthless. Not a design for me, but certainly for all the people buying them. It has been very hard for people to find them because they are in such demand. Apparently lots of people see the value in them.

I just thought of a use here in Alaska. Halibut. There are some folks that like to shoot the bigger halibut before they bring it onboard. It would make sense for the folks who choose to do that.

That would be a good reason for buying one. When someone asked why you'd buy such an ugly gun, you could say you bought it just for the halibut.

Not a whole lot of difference between this and a sawed off shotgun except this has 6 shots on tap, is short, compact, and capable of delivering extreme damage in close. No, it's NOT a "range toy," but that's exactly what 2A supporters are working so hard to preserve - WEAPONS, not toys, not all the myriad of guns "everybody accepts," but those outside the norm, those that have ZERO "sporting purpose," because the 2A does not state that WEAPONS need a sporting purpose.
A shotgun with a pistol grip and 6 rounds on tap, has a purpose, whether some 65 year old retiree thinks it's a suitable "range toy" notwithstanding.

2A exists to protect firearms suitable for revolution, for rebellion, for resistance, not just to go to the local range and bust caps. If your government is working hard to prevent you from owning a certain type of weapon, that tells you exactly what type of weapon YOU need to buy in quantity and support. Don't sell your gun rights down the drain with your nose up in the air about guns you don't "find a purpose for." ALL GUNS have a purpose, and it's pretty obvious they're NOT for putting holes in paper, or pretending to be cowboy from yore.
