Two Firefighters Murdered in Idaho

Words fail me.

At least two firefighters responding to a wildfire blaze in the Idaho Panhandle were killed by sniper fire, authorities said on Sunday.

“We’re actively taking sniper fire as we speak. This is an active situation,” Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said at a news conference. “We’re taking rapid fire up there.”

The attack happened at around 2 p.m. at Canfield Mountain outside the city of Coeur d’Alene in Kootenai County. Why do you keep trying to insinuate that this is the work of a foreign power or immigrant?

We know literally nothing about this killer other than that he is dead and was found with a firearm. It would be reasonable to assume he’s a white male based on local demographics and it would be reasonable to assume he’s used an AR-platform rifle because that’s kind of the default now. Nothing else is really supportable by facts or guesses, and using this tragedy to try to justify anti-immigrant sentiment is a terrible thing. Don’t do that, brother. It’s silly and beneath us.

All I saw on my morining stroll through the major media sites is reporting of the few known facts about the shooting. The media doesn't have to stir up hate. Hate begets hate as is obvious by some of the posts.

Objectively, this is my nightmare scenario. Armor doesn’t really help against a prepared ambush, particularly one where an optic and semiautomatic fire allow for easy aim at unprotected spots; plus turnouts and trauma pants ain’t known for stopping bullets.

I agree that terrorism in small town USA is more and more likely pushing home the reality that everyone is at risk and yes it can happen in your hometown.

Seems you did not read my post. Said some type of radical, “ furrin or native as a US citizen. Individuals of this type fall into the same catagory.
