This post in this Forum has several members discussing issues with these little Berettas:

So I want to post a specific problem that I have and ask for comments. I carried my 950 BS .25 ACP mouse gun for decades. At the range I discovered that by the third round the little pistol had just enough recoil to knock the safety into my thumb, which pushed it straight back to safe, and I wasn't getting another round off until I dropped the safety. I was so aware of this that I taught myself to prop my thumb on top of the safety to keep it down.

Just curious if I'm the only one with this problem. The gun is around 40 years old now and only goes out with me when I'm wearing a tuxedo, so you can imagine how little time it spends with me these days.

I forgot - everyone loves pictures:

You'll recognize the Beretta on top. The Baby Browning replica is long gone and the 1944 CZ Duo I keep as a memento. Long story....

I own a number of Beretta pocket pistols including a Minx, a Jetfire a couple 21A Bobcats and a 3032 Tomcat. The 950s are the B model not the later BS model so I cant speak to them directly.

I have not had that issue with the 21As or 3032. But that said, I have always placed the inside edge of my thumb over the top of the safety, a long standing habit modified adapted from carrying and shooting1911s and Hi Powers with thumb on top of the safety.

I think that would be a very likely answer. Not counting cowboy action shooting or my one striker-fired pistol, 99% of my handgun shooting is done with double-action revolvers and TDA pistols. I'm not a 1911 fan, I do like BHPs, but I never shoot mine, I own it "just because".

I had a 21A for a few years, but the accuracy was not good. One day, cleaning it I looked closely down the barrel and discovered there was no refiling on one side of the bore. I traded it off, and bought a Baby Browning 25 that I was very happy with. Mostly now I carry a Ruger LCP2, not much bigger than the Browning, with lots more potent caliber.
