There was a shooting at a small town elementary school in the next county.

First report is a 14yo first shot his father to death at home, then drove to the school, where he crashed a pickup truck into the playground fence while kids were there during recess.
Then he shot at the kids in the playground while the teacher rushed them to cover in the school building. The teacher and two students were shot.
An unarmed 30yr veteran volunteer firefighter was nearby and subdued the shooter and held him for the police.
The teacher and one wounded student are in good condition and been discharged. One student is in surgery.

Prayers go out to the kids, and deepest thanks to the teacher and firefighter who protected them.

Update:
Last news conference for tonight says the last hospitalized child is still critical, and only made it to the hospital because of the skills of the school nurse and EMT's.
Sheriff said the shooter had several more loaded magazines and the unarmed firefighter who responded first and tackled the shooter absolutely saved lives.
Fire Chief said the firefighter involved asked not appear at the conference because he wasn't a hero and did what any firefighter would do.

The family of Jacob Hall, the six year old boy in critical condition, has released his photo and requested prayers.

Update:
Update on little Jacob is that he's still fighting for his life.
He is still in critical condition, on life support and comatose after the completion of three of four surgeries he needs to repair the two large blood vessels in his leg that were severed. He's currently too weak to undergo any more of the surgeries he needs.
He had lost 75% of his blood and gone into cardiac arrest, and there is a possibility of brain damage from loss of blood.

Yesterday's emotion tinged statement by the Townville Fire Chief, made clearer not just the event, but it's gut-wrenching impact on the community.

Update:
Jacob Hall succumbed to his wounds today, 10/01/2016.

Jacobs parents, Renae and Rodger released a statement through the hospital thanking the community for their love and support:

Our son, Jacob Hall, who was shot at Townville Elementary School on Wednesday, died today surrounded by family at Greenville Health System Children's Hospital. Jacob came into our lives six years and four months ago and changed it completely. He showed us how to love, laugh and smile even on days we did not want to. God gave him to us and he was taken away from us by a senseless act. We know that Jacob has already forgiven this child for what he did to him and his family because that's the kind of child he was. Jacob was sent to this earth for this short a period of time to show us that there is such a thing as pure love. Jacob is in heaven with God now and everyone who loves him. Words cannot express how much we will miss him.

We want to express our thanks and appreciation to the community for the outpouring of love and support. We also want to thank the doctors and nurses at GHS Children's Hospital, who did everything in their power to try to save Jacob, and to Ms. Hollingsworth, who put her life on the line to try to protect and save Jacob. We also want to thank Preacher Blizzard and the staff of Oakdale Baptist Church, the Townville Rescue Squad, Townville Fire Department, Fire Chief Billy McAdams and all of the first responders. This is an extremely difficult time for our family, and we ask for privacy as we continue to grieve the loss of our beloved son.

It's an act.......

Though he may have practically killed the boy he shot in the leg, notice that he shot one in the foot and a teacher in the shoulder. He had just killed his father and I think he was building an insanity defense for himself with the school shooting.

Anyway, I hope and pray the little boy pulls through. The punk shooter should have been put away the second time he brought a gun to school.
