I was looking through some of my photos this morning and these ones made me smile. :) The grips were purchased on eBay and then "polished" to a high luster with some Flitz and a lot of elbow grease. I love the grain on the grips and the way they fit my hand.

I'd love to see photos of your 686's with custom or aftermarket grips.

Here is my 4" 686-4 with custom grips. I can't tell you who made them. There are no markings on the inside. I do like the way they look on the pistol and they feel great when shooting.

I had Hogue grips on my 6" 686 no dash. When my son absconded with it he promptly put the factory targets back on it. …… I kinda miss that gun.

I believe those are Badger Grips. I had several sets of those grips and they filled the hand well and looked beautiful in the process. :) Thanks for sharing.

I took the plunge recently, and bought a new 3 inch 686+. This thing is an absolute Shooting Star. I think it's earned a set of handsome wood grips/stocks so it looks as good as it shoots.

That pic that Ace posted is like a one stop shop!

RK, I believe you are right. I just looked at their website and it's a good match. Their prices were pretty good too.

Adios,

586-ND. Swapped the factory targets for good old Pachmayers. Ugly, yes, but probably about the best choice for a cop's working gun. Years of duty carry, and PPC competition, these stocks have earned as much respect as any fancy walnut pair. Fancy wood doesn't do so good when your hands are bloody or wet, banging against car door frames, and wrestling drunks on the pavement.

Of course, I like pretty wood as well, and that's what most of my revolvers wear.

Larry
