I've bought a number of S&Ws the past few weeks, but I haven't posted pics, so I thought I'd post pictures of............. old rifles that I've purchased. Lol.

I thought it might be fun to see if people can identify them. More info might be needed, but I figured I'd start with photos.

Any guesses? Top is #1, middle is #2, and bottom is #3.

Winchester 1894, BRNO or CZ452, Mossberg 146 T bolt

Are you saying that there are no markings....wait....you're having fun! Got it.

Old lever guns are usually Winchesters or Marlins, mostly the former. The bolt gun I have no clue, probably a Remington if I had to guess. The photos are in line, and there are 4 but if the first two are different then I'd gamble on a Trapper model for the second, missing the saddle ring.

oof, I just realized you could click on the pictures and get more and larger views.

Doesn’t matter, I can’t remember which had the forend like that, I think the 452 Trainer did but the stock is too nice. Maybe a 452 lux?

Man, I thought that would be harder. Lol.

#1 is a 1918 Vintage Winchester 1894 saddle ring carbine. I have a ring, but haven't installed it.

#2 is a 1966 BRNO No 2 in 22lr. Probably similar to a 452 trainer or lux as was mentioned. A 452 trainer is the first rifle that I bought for all three of my boys.

#3 is a Mossberg 146B 22lr. Late 40s, I think. When I think of Mossberg, I think of lower quality, but this old gal is well made.

The receiver being grooved to accept scope rings suggests 1950's to me. The "T" bolt is somewhat sought after. That looks like a very nice Mossberg scope mounted on it. Some of those seem to fetch more than the guns!

You're probably right. I think the T bolt means it's an older one, but I don't know the years.

It is an original scope.

It's in nice shape for an old 22. A lot of them rode around in a pickup and got beat up.

I'm reading that the 146b was made from 1949 to 1954. The model with the T handle is most likely 1949.

Those old Mossbergs were shooters.

I never owned a BRNO but am in to CZs, I have several of them, loving my 452 Fullstock.

Thanks for giving us the mental exercise!
