Feeling kind of snubby today

Agh, this is so tempting, I will throw in some snub action here...The first four I call 'The Four Horsemen' - from top left, clock wise - 66-3,686 no dash,657 no dash and 629-1. I bought them together from a large collection that showed up at LGS just before X-mas...X-mas came early for me...:-)

I recently added this 624 no dash to the Lew Horton collection:

My LGS rescue. I went there just to buy a $10 gun sock and they had just placed the 19-3 in in the used gun case. I didn't have enough cash in my pocket, put a deposit, ran to ATM, came back and closed the deal.
This area is usually S&W revolver purgatory, but a little luck was with me then.
This was hidden under decades of dried oil and pocket lint. Hours of scrubbing and touch up bluing and it became a gem to me. Stocks were made better than new by Curt Harlow.19-3.1after.jpg19-3.2 after.JPG

My ugly duckling. A Model 38. Drop it in a pocket on the way out the door.
"Ugly" is in the eye of the beholder. The Mdl 38 is a sidearm I've been actively looking for for some time. One day I'll find one in a condition I want at a price i can accept. Then I'll be happy...for a while.

Great looking piece you have there! I get the greatest satisfaction in acquiring a used handgun and giving it a little TLC to bring it back to like new condition than I do from acquiring a brand new handgun. I’m always looking for that diamond in the rough!

There are some pretty nice S&W snub revolvers pictured in this thread . I don't know why but I've always wanted one ...not to carry but just to own and shoot on occasion .
I was given a Taurus 85 a few years ago . It's an older model with the gloss blue finish and for it's price range it's fit and finish is really pretty good....but it's not a Smith & Wesson and after checking the various pictures posted here it's rekindled my desire for a S&W snub .
A question to those of you in the know . It's a Model 36 Chiefs Special I'd likely be looking for . From what I've seen it would appear that for an earlier flatlatch model you're looking in the $1000 and up range for one in very nice condition with box and paperwork . The flatlatch models were produced from the 1950's into the early 1960's ?
The later Chief models from about the late 1960's into the mid 1970's bring in the $600-$800 range also in very nice condition with original box and paperwork ?
I wouldn't be looking for a collector grade since I would use it from time to time but it would have to be in very good to excellent condition and preferably with the original box and paperwork . Also I'm not ready to pay upwards of a $1000 or more for one '
I'm thinking/hoping more in the $700 price range...or less ?
Any and all input would be appreciated.

@Empe Don’t sell your Taurus M85 short. I have several S&W revolvers and semi-autos (and one AR) and they are great guns but my Model 85 is a very good revolver that I would have no issue carrying.

I have a few. This 19-5 is my current EDC with Altamount Rosewood grips to replace the Goodyears that came with it. I just scored a 10-5 on GB that I'm going to clean up a bit and carry it some as well.

I'm about to get rid of two 36-1s (B&N) because I just like K frames better. I'll keep my 36 no dash though. I'm jazzed about the 10-5 snubbie
