I was at my local Gunshop last Friday and found some great bargains in their Discount Bin. This included items that I didn't even know I needed until they were in the car and we were heading home. All of this for $50 AUD (Currently about $32 USD).

I would like to know what bargains you have picked up at your LGS from their Discount Bins?

I have in the distant past been attracted to the $5 bin at the LGS just like most of us have. I used to buy a few things here and there but will admit to wasting my time, money and effort on pretty much anything I have ever purchased from them. I never use 'em and they are usually there for a good reason! I walk right by those bins now and just chuckle! I'd say a good part of what is in them are holsters for left handed people or leather goods, canvas goods or nylon goods that no one else wanted either. I have also stopped buying store bought premade holsters as I have discovered the real and true benefits of Kramer's custom made Horsehide leather goods. Since discovering them decades ago nothing else even interests me. Go ahead, call me a holster snob but I now know the difference and will not settle for less when it comes to CCW / EDC. Since I do not normally "rotate" my EDC, I do not have a need for a gazillion holsters and have been selling them over the last few years. I have kept a few old, nostalgic holsters, ammo carriers and cowboy rigs that get worn maybe once a year for a nostalgic, "feel good experience" (like wearing one of my Dad's guns to the range on let's say his Birthday or when I shoot my vintage SAA Colts - but that's about it.

I have been fortunate to to actually score some real bargains out of the bins. Several pairs of Herretts grips and several Kramer holsters. I continue to check them but alas most stores seem to have done away with them and the revolver grips have dried up. A nice Heiser for my vintage 1911, a $7 Kramer pocket holster, El Paso Saddlery for model 63 and others.

Just started working at a gun shop a few days a week because I get EVERYTHING at cost and picked-up a brand new discontinued Wilson Combat Adjuster holster for $25 bucks, they retailed for $250 sold new.
Suede lined inside and out, except for sharkskin panel and Kevlar edge panels, but this holster has 3 adjustment screws to carry anything from a 1911 or Hi Power to a S&W 4506 (my carry choice) like it was custom made to fit them.
Doesn't look like it, but actually has a low center of gravity and rides low just the way I like it.

Recently picked up this as-new AIWB holster for my P365X... $20 for an $80 holster.

I've never been a huge fan of AIWB but it has proved a great option for summer carry, and this holster with my P365X is surprisingly comfortable.

I always check the 'junk bins'... you never know what you might find, and this is not the first holster I've dug out of a bin that has become a regular use item.

Working at a gun shop is a very dangerous proposition - lol!! I had a few friends who worked at one and they spent more than they earned. One of then was allowed to buy all the incomoing revolvers he wanted regardless of brand, condition, value or collectability. That particular gun shop was not at all interested in revolvers as the owner and employees new virtually nothing about them. My friend bought many of them and kept the ones he really wanted, but financed the whole project with the ones he sold. My other friend had to quit (his wife had plenty to say when he brought home nothing of a salary) - he was going broke! LOL!!

Sorta like putting a crack addict in charge of the drug evidence room at the sheriff's office?
I never asked nor do I care what they're paying me.
Gee, I hope I can afford to stay on chief. lol

At Specialty Sports and Supply in Colorado Springs I got a rifle case I don't even know who made it but it fits my CZ 457 American like it was made for it.

I know I paid less than $20 for it I think I might have paid $10

I just wish we had some gun shops in the Rochester area PERIOD!!!

I know what you mean! I left Fairport in 1972 to go to college in Florida, and never lived up there again. However, whenever I visit family up there I "shop" around and found that there weren't many places to go- I guess even Creekside Gun Shop closed some years ago. But since I'm also a struggling blues guitar player, at least I can still visit the House of Guitars!

I've had a few discount bin finds over the years: mostly a few older leather holsters, sets of wood S&W stocks, and gun rugs. Nothing to write home about!

4 or 5 magazines for my S&W 22a, Mossberg 500 barrels, holsters and other leather/kydex stuff, small tools.

I really miss CreekSide. That's where I bought my first gun (Ruger Standard) in 1977 to get my permit to get my M-29. They wanted $700 for it so I went down the road to Shooters Supply (also gone) and got it for $350. CreekSide closed in the middle 90's. "Try before you buy" was their motto. I tried several, I loved going there. Shooters Supply got more into outdoor wear in place of Firearms. Then we had American Sportsman but they kept moving around and got smaller. They are history too. For inexpensive ammo and we had Beikircks, until they closed under rather mysterious circumstances. Remember them?
I haven't been to the HOG in about 25 years but they are still there

A flea market near my old house had a bunch of oddball gun related parts. Included in what I bought were a set of K Frame diamond Magnas, and a set of N Frame diamond Magnas. Sold the N frames on classifieds here. Both sets super nice shape. Had the K Diamonds on my 17-2 from 1964. Bob

Holsters mostly out of the bargain boxes. Some nice ones too.
A nice Heiser carved RH for a S&W M&P size frame was one of the better ones. Also a plain Heiser in a Threepersons style/no safety strap for a S&W I frame HE.

Sometimes a set of reloading dies in an odd caliber. They are usually a good for sale item on the net.
Odd reloading gadgets.
A cart case outside neck turning tool, can't remember the name right off but it's the one that the BR shooters always said to use. It was new in it's packaging with a couple of extra cal arbors.
Marked $2 and a big question mark on the package.
Knowledgeable folks they were.

Used to be a few treasures at the $1 box at the range in NYC, the suede IWB pouches for 2" snubs. They were virtually unused, folks not understanding their value or use. Remember when they used to cost $5 new? At the range here in the valley, the bin contains items that absolutely would not move when new. And they seem to sit...

There was a box of used LEO turn-in stainless S&W 40 cal. mags at a local Glock dealer. I went through the box and there was a lone 9mm 15 rd. mag. The owner didn't know it was there and I got it for $15.00. It was pretty clean and didn't show much use at all. There was another sticker on the back with a $39.99 price tag on it. Nothing as great as the ones above but it felt good to find another surprise deal.

There was a pawn shop that used to do my transfers before they closed. They had a big box of mystery magazines. I'd go the that box twice a week. Since the people doing the transfer had no idea about firearms, I got some great deals. I kept some and flipped the rest on eBay or GB. A lot of odd ball mags, too.
