I bought my first S&W because of the Optic Rebate. I was going to buy the Springfield Armor XDM 10mm which was about $100 cheaper, but I went with S&W so I wouldn't have to buy an Optic. Waited over 2 months, never received it. I called, and I was told they are on back order. She said it would be several weeks. 2 days later I receive an emails and tracking number stating they shipped it out.

Week later I still hadn't received it. So I called because Fed Ex still showed that the label was printed, but it was never handed over to them. S&W told me I need to put in a claim with Fed Ex, although it was never in their possession. I did it anyway, and was told the claim would fail since it was never picked up. They took the claim anyway. I was told it would take up to 14 business days to hear back. I called S&W to let them know that the person I put the claim with said it would never be approved. S&W has no proof they ever shipped it. They printed the label, and that's it. I finally got my Fed Ex claim completed, and as expected, they can't do anything about it. Smith & Wesson, said there's nothing they can do them.

This is so not cool at all. I honestly feel I was scammed. I paid more a pistol that I should have because of the rebate, and they never sent it out. They blame someone else, then tell me I S.O.L. Took me a while to save up for this as my disability checks are $1089 a month. Takes forever to buy myself something which is why I chose the more expensive pistol with the free optic that would end up being cheaper than saving up for an optic for the less priced Springfield Armory.

Anyone else get cheated by Smith & Wesson on the Rebate? If so did S&W ever make good on it?

This is what Fed Ex said in their denial letter

Just send the FedEx declination letter to S&W: if they can't provide proof of shipment your claim is with them. FedEx can't pay you for the loss of something they never received.

Cheers!

They are still putting the blame on Fed Ex. S&W claims they don't receive of keep proof when they ship stuff out. I don't know what else to do. All they have to do is give me proof they gave it to Fed Ex so i can dispute the claim, but they don't have it, and expect me to be ok with this.

Can't possibly be the 1st instance where there was a "label printed" but no record of the carrier receiving the package. You are the consignee and can't provide the shipper's (S&W) proof that the package was ever picked up: technically called the Bill of Lading. The carrier (FedEx) can't pay the claim lacking proof they received the package. Call S&W and climb the ladder. They are the one with the contract to ship via FedEx: they are FedEx's customer: you are their customer. If they (S&W) don't maintain proper Bills of Lading records it is their problem. You can't be required to provide a document you have no access to nor responsibility to create. E-mail them both with a response to the 7/10 declination letter stating the above. Determine 1st if this was actually shipped from a S&W facility or possibly drop-shipped from Viridian? Even if so, you, as consignee can't be required to provide the Bill of Lading.

P.S. This happens all the time: usually it is just a passing pissing contest between the shipper and the carrier. Climb the S&W ladder until someone with common sense responds.

I'll keep at it ty

S&W no longer will talk to me. Never buying anything S&W again.

I bought the S&W over the Springfield. for the rebate, but S&W created a shipping label, and never sent it. They have no proof they ever gave it to Fed Ex. Scammed me.
As for the reflex sight,is it worth the money? No clue

Does anyone have the distribution center info where the Green Dot was sent from? S&W will not give me any information as to who they are so I can get the pick up manifest so Fed Ex will look at my claim again. It never made it to any fed ex distribution centers, and without that pickup manifest what the driver would have signed, they will continue to deny the claim. The info would be on the package shipping label of your Viridian

I got one of the optics under the rebate. Nowhere near worth the MSRP of the optic, certainly not worth getting upset about. It took about 3 months to get mine.

Just got mine today but my Shield Plus CC is at S&W for a couple more weeks for warranty work.

Help me out here. S&W charged you but didn't send it to FedEx. S&W made a shipping label but has no record of it being sent out and refuses to provide any information regarding shipment and blames FedEx? Yeah, I believe I would raise a big stink with S&W, write letters if they won't talk to you. The whys and whats about rebates don't matter. You paid for something they didn't send you.

No, I bought the S&W 10mm which because of the viridian rebate to save money over buying the Springfield Armory 10mm, and have to buy a separate reflex sight later. I bought the gun, rebate was accepted by S&W. S&W then claims they shipped it off to me, but I never received it, and Fed Ex also never received it.

So then S&W says they don't have proof they handed it to Fed Ex, and want nothing to do with this. They blame Fed Ex, and says I need to put in the claim for lost item. However, how is it a lost package, if it never made it to the first stop. Nothing on both ends Fed Ex and S&W shows it was shipped. Fed Ex denied my claim because I need proof it was in fact given to the driver to take to the Fed Ex distribution center. S&W will no longer talk to me. They will not give me a manifest, pickup number, anything at all to give to Fed Ex in order to dispute the denial. S&W also will not tell me who is shipping these rebates off so I can contact them for proof that they did in fact give it to Fed Ex.

All I need is that proof, or S&W do the claim themselves, but they refuse to do anything at all to help me.

In the end I bought S&W for the rebate, but got screwed by S&W on the rebate.

So now I'm asking if anyone still has the box that the rebate came in so said person can tell me what the name of the shipper is, and the address so I can contact them to get the proof I need. This is what I get to get a free sight that was offered. This is my first S&W, and for sure will be my last.

Well amigos, I finally found out who through much detective work who shipped the sights. I called them, they looked into it. Said she would look into it. 5 days later, I received an email with a new tracking was provided. Received it today. I know people are saying it's garbage sight, but the quality isn't the point. It's the fact that it's part of the purchase. It could have been $20, and I still would have been pissed about being scammed. So it was either Kim at the warehouse distribution company who took care of it, or it was the BBB claim I made. I never should have gone through all this BS, so I will not be buying S&W anymore. Month long headache, and S&W not even helping me other than just giving me a letter saying I can make a Fed Ex claim on their behalf, and then ignoring me when Fed Ex wanted a manifest, or pickup signature anything to go on says this company in no way cares about their customers.

Glad to hear it was rectified (finally?)... Once you got with the correct entity (the shipper or consignor in cargo claims terminology) they were able to help. Your frustration, naturally, is understandable: S&W obviously dropped the ball, customer service-wise.

Cheers!

P.S. I just love stories with happy(?) endings...! (Probably why I enjoyed ZERO DARK THIRTY so much?

Finally got my Shield CC back from S&W for warranty work on Friday.
Just mounted my RX15 today and hope to try it out tomorrow.
I hope mine isn't a turd, but either way, I plan on getting the Vortex Defender CCW green dot.

It took nearly 3 months to finally get my Viridian sight. In the interim, I just bit the bullet and bought a Calculated Kinetics mounting plate for a Holosun 507 green I've had laying around. Took one look at how high it would sit and just decided to run it with the irons, since there's no way it would cowitness at all. Then, the RFX15 finally arrived, checked it out to make sure it worked, didn't mount it and just put it back into the box. It is nowhere near Holosun quality, and I'm not gonna bet my life on it. TBH, I have plenty of spare RMRs, 507 Comps and a Vortex mini Defender, but nothing that would cowitness with the standard height sights, so it's not like I actually bought the gun because of the rebate. But, it's a matter of principle, and I wasn't very impressed with the crappy, condescending attitude of the "customer service" rep, either.

I've mostly been a buyer of S&W revolvers over the years, and I was sadly used to having to send back almost every one of them at least once for clocked barrel shrouds or poorly-fit cylinders, but at least they were friendly, cooperative and fairly quick about taking them back in and (eventually) correcting the issues. Now, I won't even buy one of their revolver after this customer "service" experience. S&W's CS apparently has now gone as downhill as their QC. Not a combination I care to deal with.

Yeah, it's a shame how horrible this company is. Btw the trigger is the grittiest garbage I have ever felt on any gun. My Taurus G3 is 100x smoother, and even my Hatsan Pellet gun doesn't have grit. smh I should have just gone with what I originally wanted which was the Springfield Armory XDM Elite 10mm. I didn't know S&W had such garbage triggers, and bad customer service. I should have done my home work.
