Hot day today

110°F today with 5% humidity and the thin layer of wildfire smoke. It was still 97°F at the airport after 2300 last night.

Temperatures are only numbers. I bent the needle on my front porch thermometer; I had a cool 82 degrees. I think I'll warm it up a little tomorrow! The important numbers are on my thermostat: set point equals actual temp inside the house. I picked a good time to buy a rag top! As long as I have a hat on, it's all good. Angel didn't take long to figure out that shadow by the shed is a cool place to hang out. I keep the bird bath filled with the cool water from my A/C condensate. The bucket in the sink fills up pretty quick from the condensate pump. I'll take this weather over the wintertime junk anytime. We're averaging about 88 degrees if anyone's keeping score. No rain equals no grass cutting.

A friend who grew up in Burnet mentioned the other day that spring and the early part of summer were much cooler and wetter in central Texas, but now that we're getting 100 degree temperatures day after day, we're back to a normal central Texas summer.

100 here, The last several days have been 100 plus after a rather cool and very wet (for us) July.

Yep. No A/C here means windows open fans on. While it was 100 today, tonight's supposed to get down to 65.
I share the pain, lihpster. Air conditioning isn't really needed here in "Wetstern" WA. There are a few days each summer that we break mid-80's and maybe go over 90. On those days, I ponder adding air conditioning. Not a small feat as thanks to hydronic heat; no ductwork in the house. I could put in mini splits, but the "heat wave" soon passes and I abandon the idea until next year. Then the cycle repeats. FWIW, it's 58 as I write this.

Stay cool bro'

Got up to the century mark today. Supposed to be there tomorrow, too. That's hot for us. How hot did you get?
It's only 82 degree this morning, but the humidelty is off the charts
