I had an interesting spam call. They were trying to sell final life insurance which would take care of funeral expenses. She was going on and on about how I needed this insurance for final expenses. I told her I wasn't going to die. Silence on the other end. I repeated again that I didn't need their insurance because I wasn't going to die. They hung up.

If someone cold calls you with the scam dujour you are morally obligated to provide them with the most outrageous, most bazaar reply as possible. This serves 2 purposes. It give the caller a very clear message that you're not interested in their scam and you get a cheap thrill to share with your forum mates. Win/win!

I always got a kick out of the guy that used to be on bob & tom. The revenge of the telemarketer cant remember his name. The one where the place calls and is selling pre paid funerals lol!!

My home phone, I don't own a cell phone, runs through a no frills answering machine and even if I'm sitting next to it when it rings I don't pick it up until and unless I hear someone talking.
If it's someone I want to talk with I'll pick up and if not I just let the machine do it's job.

When I was a young man, I was getting calls, every night at supper time, trying to sell me a local cemetery plot. The calls originated in town. I told them to take me off their list for about the fifth time. When the phone rang the next night, at supper time, I answered and told the caller, that whoever owned that cemetery might just need a plot sooner than expected if they called me again. No more calls. Yea, I was young, dumb and pissed.

I dropped life insurance when the kids left college and home. The home place is paid for, it cost less than two thousand dollars for cremation, no big gig follows the cremation. Nobody has a reason to kill me for either the insurance or the inheritance so I sleep better at night, not for the safety of my situation, but because I am not sending the insurance company money. Depriving the insurance company makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. ;)

I admit that I like to have fun with these people. My girlfriend says that what I used to do is rude, and I haven't done it in a while because my cell phone screens out spam calls.

They start talking and I interrupt.....

OH! HELLO! Don't be alarmed, but I know where you live and I'm coming to kill you.........and your little dog, too!!!!

I said I wouldn't do that anymore, but temptation is removed when these spammers can't get through. :ROFLMAO:

I can't even repeat what my friend in Ohio says to those scammers, but it has to do with his...nope, I can't say it. I'll get kicked off the forum. Pretty graphic, if you know what I mean. Thin ice.
