Just acquired a 60-3 that looks to have never been shot. No box or anything. Has Uncle Mikes rubber grips that look new. See# BDU59XX. There are 2 round paper labels under the grips, with 23 on one and 8 on the other. I will post pictures soon. Any info would be appreciated.

The stainless Chiefs Special was first made in 1965; yours is likely from 1989. The Model 60 is pretty popular and the current engineering change is 60-18. I believe your product code is 102302. Great gun, great price!!!
Added: I've got the -4, they have a 3" barrel and adjustable rear sight.

So are the Uncle Mikes grips factory or add on
Factory issued on some Model 60's; I'm not sure about the -3. Some believe them to be the most comfortable. They are no longer made and sell online for more than they should. S&W has their own version they put on some of their current J frame guns.

Added: grip screw is a replacement - looks to be a bit long and has allen head instead of straight, and is oriented in wrong direction.

Really gorgeous pair! I also have a 60-3 DAO with a three inch barrel. I hated the Hogue grips so it's got a set of new-to-me Herritt's that seem more worthy on the gun. I don't know that much about it though I bought it brand new, but concluded it might be something rare. I shoot it occasionally but didn't carry it much. Didn't know they also made that version with two inche barrels.
