I'm sure there are still fans of slip joint knives out there….I have quite a few. One of my favorites, Boys Knife, 3" closed 1095 carbon steel, steel bolsters and liners, ebony covers. Made by Great Eastern Cutley in Titusville, PA.

The run of #14s from 2018 was, IMHO, some of GECs best work. I might own a few of them.

Yeah I was buying them for $50 to $60 in most cases. The SFO's ruined the market for average users. Now dealers have learned their lesson and charging scalpers prices just like the flippers.I carry a GEC every day. Also have some nice Queens and S&Ms. Really hate that GECs are the "Thing" now and almost unattainable except at inflated prices on the secondary market. I remember when they'd be available for weeks or months at dealers to be purchased at your leisure, I should have bought way more that I did. I used to give them away as wedding gifts, the newlyweds get Case knives now due to availability.![]()
I prefer the 14 to the 15. I kept a few of my basic favorites after owning way to many GEC's. I have one guy from Australia that keeps bugging me to sell him my 15 clip in cocobolo.
