If they come out with this one next I'm going to pick one up. Hopefully they'll have all their production issues ironed out. And will have the correct cylinder throat, forcing cone & bore diameters to shoot cast bullets well right out of the box

Have a tote full of 45 Colt ammo and components from an old SAA I sold off last winter.

Come on S&W let's get it on!

I am glad I bought the original one and still prefer it but so happy they are considering making more of the new design

I would like one of the older pre-lock 625 Mountain Guns. Mine is a 625-9 post lock. It's odd to say, but I think I could resist a new one pretty easily. It seems to me they both pretty much have the same internals, with the exception of the side lock, which I've already removed from mine. Aside from a still existing degree of aesthetics, it doesn't seem worth the effort in my case. The 686 Mountain Gun...that one could tempt me. I love the idea of a nice L frame without the full lug barrel.

I carried my 625-6 for many miles hiking biking and canoeing in grizzly country. I'm glad they are making these mountain guns without locks so other people can buy them again.

It probably has the same limits as any recent S&W .45 Colt. It is not likely limited to the Cowboy action loads, but I would not use the really stout stuff ("Ruger only" type loads).
