There's a reason that a doctors profession is called a 'practice'...they 'practice medicine...get it? Maybe just me but having a PHD does not nessisiarly mean your smart...means you went to school a long time. My brother is an example.

If you don't like these ads now, just wait. Consumer protection agencies are being shut down, financial fraud protection agencies closed, anything looking out for normal people is on the block. We are entering the second "gilded age" of robber barons and corporate greed and nothing to stop them. But think of all the freedom we are getting.

I have a lot of respect for the people who had the guts and determination to make it through post grad education. I certainly want the most important people, outside of family life, to have a good education. I don't want my doctor, dentist or lawyer to be a graduate of the school of hard knocks like I was. But, to each his own.

Learning is learning, no matter where you get it. I didn't learn a major part of career, the ability to understand legal descriptions of land and draw out the configurations of land on paper from the legal description, in school. I learned that on the job at someone's knee. It made working with the surveyors a lot easier for both of us. I ended up teaching it to other attorneys who came through the firm I worked at back in the 1980s and 1990s.
