The inside the waistband holster is an old idea, as shown by this Lepage’s pocket pistol case with an 1878 patent date.
A page from Heiser’s number 19 catalog shows a suspender holster worn inside the trousers and buttoned to the suspender buttons. My copy of the catalog has a receipt in it dated June 1922.
An example with another Heiser IWB holster for the Colt .32 pocket auto.
This pair of Heisers have the same model number 804. The one on the right appears in catalog number 30 and changes to the later style in catalog number 40. My copy of number 40 has a Heiser post card in it dated 1942, this is also the catalog that shows the brown enamel snap buttons for the first time.
Here’s the end result of this design, a Hunter model for a .25 auto.
A pre WW II Hoyt IWB holster for the .25 auto.
Some S.D. Myres IWB designs.
These are Seventrees IWB holsters, they look a lot like Alessi and DeSantis current designs.
Retired and living in South Florida I’m in shorts more than anything else and prefer pocket carry in a Mika holster but if I ever want to switch to IWB I’ve got some interesting old holsters to try.
