Safariland leather holsters question
I called Safariland today to order a replacement thumbsnap for my Safariland 29 medium revolver holster today.
Was stunned to learn that they do not offer leather holsters anymore!!
With this in mind can any of you eagle eyed forum members suggest another source for a replacement thumbsnap? In particular I am in need of the side that is closest to your body on an OWB Right hand carry.
I believe the snap is the same for all of their leather holster with a retention strap

I believe the strap leather is integral to the holster on Safariland 29, so I assume you're looking for the snap buttons.
If the male portion came apart and you still have both pieces, you can reattach them with an 1/8" aluminum pop rivet.
If you need to replace the snaps, do a google search for "snap buttons" or check a local craft store (Michaels, Joann, Hobby Lobby). You will need an installation tool. You could also try contacting a shoe repair shop.

I'v repaired a few holsters with broken or missing snaps with new snaps that I purchased at a crafts store, was pretty cheap and simple to do. All you need is a couple snap tools and a hammer. I'm a big fan of the vintage Safariland and Bianchi leather holsters that were made in the USA before production moved to Mexico and the change from leather to laminate.

These are photos of male snaps I repaired with pop rivets. I suspect most people would never notice!
