My uncle gave me his handcuffs when he retired from the NYPD (the 4-4 in The Bronx) in the early 1960s. They have the number 62488 on them, and are inscribed "MADE IN U.S.A. – MARCAS REGISTRADAS – SMITH & WESSON - SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Can you tell me approximately when they were made? Thanks.
EDIT: I THOUGHT these were the cuffs my uncle gave me. WRONG. He gave me a pair of Federal Laboratories cuffs. Sorry for my absent minded goof, and thanks very much for the information.

No idea of dating them but they've been around for many decades...S&W and Peerless are probably the two biggest suppliers of handcuffs.

Congrats on receiving those cuffs and welcome to our forum.

Wondering if you could contact S&W for a guess at the manufacture date?

This might help...
