NE IL but I'm from Ohio
I generally wear El Paso saddlery 1 1/2" dress belts. Stiff enough for a holster and look good. Bought my first around 1996 - 1998 and as it was showing it's age I bought another ( an inch longer) about 5 years ago. I did continuing using the old comfortable one off and on and it started wearing thru the buckle fold on one side, possibly partly from the buckle I use. Well I pulled wrong a week or so ago and tore it part way at the buckle. Sent it back to El Paso asking for the same belt only longer to the center hole to accommodate an IWB holster and requesting they advise on cost. Called them yesterday and got "We'll replace it under warranty" Should have it in 4-5 weeks. Can't beat that. I did offer to pay the shipping which they accepted; well worth it.

I posted a few years ago about losing weight and asking EPS if they could shorten a floral carved ranger belt for me. They wrote back and said they could not shorten it, but if I returned the too large one they would replace it with a smaller size.

I was flabbergasted, but dee—lighted!

(I, uh , was a bit too optimistic about my ability to maintain the new, smaller me..... I'm on the penultimate hole nowadays....)

I have a few of their shoulder holsters. One for a 1911 and one for an N frame. Not custom leather but good enough for the unwashed masses if you can afford it.

I have a bunch of their shoulder holsters and Austin's for hunting carry as well as a few of their gun belts. Holsters for everything from a 6" Smith 686 to a Walther PP. I love em. On the other hand, I'm also a big fan of old Brauer holsters. I've never had to use the warranty with El Paso, but it's good info to know as it's inevitable that I'll one day screw something up.

Well; they said 4 to 5 weeks and I got it today so the time frame they gave was right on the money. That's the good news; bad news is that the belt is too short. Instead of making it the length I specified to be used with IWB holsters it was made to the same length of the old returned belt which I had outgrown and was almost to the last hole. I called and explained things and after checking the order confirmed it should have been the length I had asked for so they either they sent me the wrong belt or they just made it the same as the old one instead of reading the order. Either way El Paso was very apologetic and will get a new one make and sent out. I am happy with El Paso's response and figure these things happen. We'll see if it takes another 5 weeks. The too short belt is on it's way back but they shouldn't have any problem selling it at 38" from the fold for the buckle to the center hole.

Over the last few years or so I've been culling down my holster collection. I have pretty much settled on 25-30 to keep and the rest are gone. I guess I will do a second culling one of these days in the future but my Kramer holsters, belts and pouches and DeSantis Nemesis pocket holsters are sacred. I also have a bunch of nostalgic leather but almost never actually use them, - just once in a blue....

Still waiting in the belt, it's been 7 weeks since I returned the too short one and it was delivered back to them. Trying to get thru on the phone to check up as, unfortunately they do not seem to answer e-mails. I know I'll get it and it'll be worth the wait so I am just venting a little frustration. The first one that was returned took five weeks so I expect to hear something soon.

As of today, per their email. EPS has a sale going with 20% discount of all orders. Promo code is "inflation".

I just discovered 20 new belts hanging in my closet! No - I have not bought any new ones, I lost 25 pounds over the last 8 months and have reunited with many that were a tad too small up until recently. These are not cheap belts either - and a few are Kramer Horsehide gun belts that are in excellent shape - just haven't fit me in a while - up until now. :p

I did NOT go on any crazy diet. I modified what I eat. I completely cut out bread, deserts, Gluten and seed oils. I still eat plenty of Rib Eye steaks, Ribs, Seafood of all kind, fruits veggies, etc. Just the stuff above. I lost the weight slowly over 8 months and still have 7 more pounds to loose to reach my goal of 195. I am 6 ft. so 195 is fine for me.

I never realized how many belts I had mothballed until my wife reminded me about them - lol.

Woohoo. After trying to talk to a live person multiple times and a couple of E-mails I got a call back. Apologies all around from EPS; seems that the Gentleman that answers the phones, takes orders etc has been out and when he went back to check found the belt had been set aside and forgot as they "Had Questions" like what did I actually wanted measurement wise. I am told it being made now and will be ready and will go out by early next week. I am fine with that and said so. I have had to deal with upset customers before and realize that things happen This is the first time I have had any issue at all with EPS or something they made for me. Also, considering that the belt is no charge as it is a replacement for one I wore the heck out of and when I asked about about getting a new one was told send it back and we'll replace it under warranty. I guest my asking for one 4" longer to the center hole to accommodate a 1911 IWB holster is what confused things.

Fwiw, I had a cobbler shorten a few holster belts for me. I lost enough weight that the buckle end needed to be shortened.

It was very inexpensive.

Finally received the belt today. It is perfect and exactly as ordered. It may even be a little stiffer then the last EPS belt I bought and the belt was well worth the wait.

They must have finished this one just before shipping as is has a strong odor from the finish they use. It's russett so I assume it's an oil of some sort. It is currently hanging in the garage to let the new belt dressing / finish odor dissipate. Not an unpleasant odor, just a little strong.

UPDATE, much better after airing it for a couple of days. Ready to start using. I had this one made long to accommodate IWB holsters, mainly a Sparks Summer Special II.

It may of taken longer than normal due to a few glitches but I still can't knock EPS, the holster was basically free , replacing an older EPF dress belt that I could no longer use after over 25 years of regular wear.
