Holster recommendation for S&W model 19 Carry Comp 2.5" barrel?
Hi everyone,
I just brought home a beautiful Model 19 Carry Comp with a 2.5" barrel, and I cannot find a holster for it. I found a few holsters for the 3" version, but one of the main reasons why I chose the 2.5" version is for AIWB comfort (or should I say tolerable discomfort). A claw/wing would be a significant plus. I prefer Kydex due to the thinness, but I like leather as well.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I didn't even realize they offered a 2.5" K comp but it is listed on the SW sight , interesting had only seen them with a 3" barrel.
I don't carry my K comp but assumed it would fit in all my K frame snub holsters.
It does have that full underlug but that shouldn't be an issue but the front site looks tall,
Will have to try it in a few holsters tomorrow.

That would be great. Thank you so much.
There isn’t much talk about the 2.5” version on the internet. I found a 2.5” and a 3” version at a LGS, and the smaller one seemed great for AIWB.

I’m having the same trouble finding a stock holster for my 2.5 inch 686-4. They all seem to be for 3 inch. I ordered a DeSantis on sale from Midway. Pull down menu was specific for 2.5 inch barrel while other sites listed as 2.5-3”. Had to send it it back to Midway as it was for a three inch. Same thing happened with Azula. That one I sent back and they cut it down to 2.5 inch but not very well done. Since the 686 is not EDC I was trying to find an occasional holster at a lower price. Guess I’ll have to suck it up and order one made to fit.

Take a look at MTR Custom Leather offerings.
Here is a AIWB model that lists the Comp19 3" and a K-frame 2.5": https://www.mtrcustomleather.com/pro...-aiwb-holster/
I'd call them to see if they can meet your needs. They get good reviews and do quality work at reasonable prices.

All you Guys looking for holsters should shoot an email to Rob at Simply Rugged. He is very accommodating. I have a special request holster on the way that I’ll post once it arrives.

I tried Azula too, and MASC recently, both for different guns, and they did not work out. The MASC one especially didn’t fit my gun properly, even though it was supposed to be made for my exact model. I think 686 2.5” is a beautiful gun btw.

Thanks for the recommendation! This holster looks great, especially with the wing and wedge. I didn’t see an option for the 3” carry comp, but I did see one for the k frame 2.5”, so I sent them an email to see if they can make one for my gun.

I’ve got my 686+ 2.5 on my hip in Azula leather. For 50 bucks it can’t be beat and I’ve got 6 kramers at home. I’m not waiting 9-11 months anymore.. pic shown is K frame in said holster

Yeah, those 40+ week waits are crazy. That Azula looks a lot thicker than the one I had.

Page down the MTR Custom Leather weapons listing beyond the M&P Shields to the numbered models to find the Model 19 Carry Comp 3" Performance Center listing just under the Model 10s.

My 3" Mod 19-7 K comp fits in my K snub holsters that have an open muzzle, obviously the closed muzzle ones meant for 2.5" barrels don't.
When I started out I assumed that the 2.5" Model 19-3 or 66-1 muzzle would be shorter in height than my 3" K comp because the K comp looks taller,
Put the dial gauge calipers on the top of the front sites and bottom of the ejector rod shroud,
66-1 is "1.63 inches
19-7 K comp 3" is "1.60 inches
For fun I measured 2 more
686 ND 2.5" is "1.60
Model 65-5 Ladysmith is "1.56.
I'm old school and prefer the style of holster that you pass your belt through two slots, one front and one rear vs 1 large slot in the middle as it seems to secure the gun better,
Living in Sunny South Florida we don't wear many if any outer garments on top of a T shirt and pulling it closer helps conceal better IMO.
I don't like iwb as it seems to collect sweat and be less comfortable, also prefer leather as its softer and because I'm an old fart .
