Weihrauch Revolver 1873 SAA

I have one in 45colt ---I haven't had it out of the safe in awhile so I'm going on memory here:

Weihrauch made in West German -on the bottom/maybe left of the barrel
--imported by F.I.E. in Miami Florida
ARM 45 on the frame (right side)
not sure if it has arminus on it (see below)

Shoots good -- I bought it from a guy (attendee, not a seller with a table) at a gun show who claimed he could hit a "refrigerator at 100 yards" --- I have never felt the need to shoot a refrigerator at any distance ---but do know it shoots to point of aim at 7 yards and is a nice looking gun

I can get more info off of my gun this PM when I get home (I'm hard at work now)

here's the same gun (I believe exactly like mine) except this one is 357 mag on gunbroker
I searched arminius
I don't know that I'd go the auction start price of $400.00 --if the price were right I'd buy another

I don't have any experience with their firearms, but HW air guns are of a very high quality and have excellent reputations among air gun enthusiasts. Here is a link to their website:

Here is another link to EAA with their line of HW cartridge handguns:

After my initial posting someone suggested to me a connection with Armenius. I Googled Weihrauch and sure enough it is the same company. When I was about to buy my first handgun (other than black powder) I saw an Armenius revolver advertised and was advised it was a poor quality gun, and a S&W would be better buy. I bought a 686 and an M17.

I have never handled or fired an Armenius, so I can't speak from experience, but I can't forget that advice. Maybe it was bad advice.

I wouldn't think bad advice --possibly different gun ---Arminius double actions are homely critters that don't look to be anywhere near S&W quality --I just checked out a few on gun broker.........

but this (my) single action sure is pretty:

It might be the fact that the single action is a clone --I'm not sure if the double action Arminius/Weihrauch's were clones or original designs......? I don't like the looks so I wouldn't even give one of the double actions a chance (but that's just me)

I'm comparing mine to several Sauer&Sohn (Hawes imports also from W Germany) --- an early Uberti (early import forget by who) and of course a Ruger Blackhawk all the same vintage (mid 70's)

Shooting impressions: shoots great to point of aim. All in all a nice gun ----fit and finish are great---if I ran across another at the right price I would not hesitate to buy it.

That being said -right price -for me at least --- is in the $200.00-$250.00 range. Might a nice one be worth the $400.00 the guy on gun broker is asking...? ---not to me.....

My recommendation would be to check the gun out to your satisfaction --pull the cylinder, look down the bore, check for anything you would certainly find after you would have gotten it home --take a light --if the seller doesn't want you to do this ---- then pass -----I believe these guns were made back in the 70's --if there is a few years between the manufacture of mine vs. the one you are looking at ---quality may be significantly different

good luck
