Love the opening shot with the horses running free and the theme playing.

After I heard this rant from Billy Jack I never finished watching the movie.
Billy Jack: Not "dead", their brains blown out! Because YOUR people wouldn't even put the same controls on their guns as they do on their dogs, their bicycles, their cats, and their automobiles.

Before Billy Jack starting fighting against "The Man" he was hanging out at the beach in Malibu with "Moondoggie" and those other surfer kids. I know because I recently watched Gidget with Sanra Dee and there he was! And don't make fun of me watching Gidget. Anyone with the whole box set of Billy Jack movies have no room to laugh. His films are rediculous, self indulgent, horribly acted by everyone but him, supposed social commentary pieces of ****. But I love watching them, too. Just saw The Born Losers. Great scene where he shoots the main biker between the eyes with an M1 Garand! They are fascinating because they take themselves so seriously.

What Wyatt said. I love highbrow well-done movies, but sometimes ya just need some diversion and the opportunity to identify with a guy who delivers roundhouse kicks to the heads of local politicians.

I haven't seen "The Born Losers" since I was 12 or 13 and went with my Dad to the drive-in. I always remembered it as a lever action, now I have to watch it again to restore my sanity.

At the beginning he had a 1903 Springfield and then all of a sudden it became a Garand. Or vice versa. I'm pretty sure it was the Garand at the end. And when he shot the guy ten feet away there was a nice clean little red dot between his eyes and no exit. A movie so bad it's good.

I thought I knew both a 1903 Springfield and a M-1 Garand were involved though can't remember the sequence of which was first. Wasn't the first rifle confiscated by the police, when Billy Jack was arrested for doing the original head knocking?

My wife and I met on a blind date. We went to see the movie Billy Jack at a local theater with another couple. I remember a little of the movie...I guess I was distracted! Anyway, we got married a year and two days later. That was a bit over 37 years ago. She is still the love of my life.
