I hope all forum members will take a moment to look at this unique memorial erected by members of the 1-17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division in Afghanistan to honor their fallen comrades. The end of 2009 is a good time to remember the price being paid by our service members and their families.

Thank you for posting. God bless all the fallen and those who have or are serving. Things are going to get even more hairy as the troop buildup gains momentum. My Marine son-in-law got there last week after waiting forever. The Generals asked for more in August and Barry finally got off the pot now. Go figure.

What a marvelous tribute to true heros of battle!

Why does our mainstream media so utterly fail to report and pay tribute to these heros instead of slobbering over the likes of Paris, Nicki, Jon and Kate, and all the other disfunctional misfits of celebrityland?

I just wish our youth knew of these men and women that have so much to teach by their actions.

I think the bison images within the tent look more Cro-Magnon than Amerindian, but this was very impressive.

The clarity of the stars is notable. This camp is located in an area that is very dark, both geographically and spiritually. The brightness of the stars there may help to atone for that.
