I ventured back up there a Little North and west of you close to Branchport, New York a Few years ago when New York opened up Rifle in Two of their southern Tier counties as an experiment, the one I was in was Yates, County and I took the Nice corn Fed Buck with my Remington 788 chambered in .243 Winchester shown. I called it in soon afterwards about 8:00 I Guess it was, and the Guy answering the Deer report in harvest line told me I was the First one to kill a Buck in Up-State N.Y. with a rifle. The following morning I was headed back to Knoxville, and left this fine deer behind for my Old Hunting Buddy to enjoy Munching on as it was his 55 acres it was taken on. he hunted hard the rest of the season and never saw another Buck in his travel's so I was glad I left it for him to enjoy...
