I think that I must have developed a bad case of cheap-gunitis, or something lately. Past couple of weeks I've put down money on another Gallisi (a saxy little Italian in 22-long, of all things); a S&W 1100 (12 ga, semi-auto), and lastly one of those cosmoline-encrusted, M57 Zastavas. This last one is the basis for my posting. I'm not familiar with the 7.62x25 (Tokorov) cartridge and would appreciate comments from those that have. It sure looks like it should be a cooker; something like 85 gr FMJ at 1500 fps (man, that thing would go right through a person). Price was right at $220 and it looks sort of like a Colt 1903 on steroids. However, its finish is typical mid-50's, cold war, eastern block: matt, dark blue, and covered with proof marks. Photos to be posted in a couple of weeks.

Anyways, for those that have them, lemme know what you think of them. For some reason this thing grabbed my interest. -S2

Thanks buck, I missed that one. And thanks to Paladin for his research and posting. You guys are correct as far as these things being packed in cosmoline; they must have been paid extra for it; mine is one big, greasy mess. -S2

S2,

As you may know, the longer magazines on the Yugoslav Toks are both scarce and expensive. I have seen some info on the web about modifying CZ-52 magazines to work in the M57s. When finished, the mags will work in either gun.

I'll vouch for the muzzle-blast. We're talking long-gun blast.
Use the best hearing protection you've got if you're going to touch off
one of these rounds. TACC1

I've gotten a CZ-52 in the Tokarev caliber.

Very fun little gun and the light show in the dark from the muzzle blast
really is a hoot.

Clean the bore quick if you use the hot and cheap east block stuff.
