R.I.P. Larry Kelly

Never met the man personally but his work had an effect on the guns many of us shoot. I had three guns magnaported and it made a difference.

Yet people are dying now that never died before. Each will be missed as will Mr Kelly.

I live in Grosse Pointe, just down Jefferson from Harrison Twp. and hadn't heard this news. Magnaport and I go way back. Hopefully, the company will survive.

Now there was a man who lived life to the fullest. Back in the day, I used to enjoy reading of his exploits. My fav was the time a bear broke into Kelly's hunting cabin and Kelly blasted it six times with 44 mag hollow points. The bullets didn't penetrate and Kelly went out the window.

At least, that's how I remember it.

Then Larry started loading with solid points.

RIP, Mr. Kelly.

Another one who did things his own way and left his mark. His company did a lot of custom machine work of high quality and while I never personally was much for the magnaporting process on my own firearms, I was always interested in Larry's handgun hunting exploits.

None of us gets out alive, and how we will be remembered should matter to us while we're here.
