I'm throwing my hands up and going to Vegas. Going Wed. morning, so now I'm packing and watching/listening to John Waynes' "In Harms Way" in the DVD player. Not a gambler, so might throw a hundred into a nickel slot. That'll be it for me. 100 Degrees says I'll be in or by the pool unless I'm going dancing with my Sweety or checking out the Arlen Ness shop and the local H-D shop. My first time there, so should be fun. Anyone know of any good gun shops??

While I haven't been to Vegas in many years - I'd check out the pawn shop on Pawn Stars. Looks interesting on TV and they have a lot of C&R guns too (or so they make it seem on TV).

Went through vegas yesterday. There was billboards up advertiseing you can rent and shoot machineguns. I belive it is a few miles out of town on highway 160. You should be doing this in wintertime. Your gonna die!
Are you renting a car or haveing someone drive you around?
We talked before. I am 170 miles ENE. This is prettier and cooler country. You will be seeing roughly 110 degrees. Give us a report!

I think you are right!!!

Well Feral, I agree about the heat. We only have a short time there, so we are not renting any wheels. Just gonna walk or cab it to the few places we will go. I might check into the machineguns. If I were gonna be there longer Feral, I'd drop in and introduce myself. Oddly enough, been running into quite a few people with Utah experience. It gets sounding better all the time. I'll give a report when I get back if I don't stroke-out in the heat!!! ;)

SPREFIX, check out this lead I just put on another thread. Its about the area around 80 miles or so to the east of us. Nice pictures. Vegas is about luck. A week ago theresa won $500s on a duces wild machine playing 50 cents. ($2.50). I think I lost the same $500 going to and comeing back from california.
You might want to try the silverton casino just south of the airport. It has a large bass pro shop attached to it and they have nice rooms and a fine cheap smorgasboard buffett. Probley is our favorite place in vegas. That highway 160 with the gunshop range borders it and is something like 4 miles west of the silverton.

Thanks Feral, Gonna check it out and run it by my Sweety. Our friends are usually up for anything fun and interesting also. And eating on the cheap is good!!! The Silverton Casino.......got it locked into the brain!!

Sprefix, the silverton is 2 1/2 miles south of the airport right on I-15, the main freeway through vegas. Its on blue diamond road that also is highway 160. About 15-20 miles straight out west on 160 is a area called mt wilson. It is the closest scenic area near vegas with hikeing trails etc. Well worth a 3 hour break from the casinos and higher cooler country. We done it last year and it was a pleasent area I didnt know existed so close. That gun range/shop is on the road that direction too. I drove past it but didnt go in it. Have fun!

The buffet at the Silverton is great. The Bass Pro attached has a Fine Gun Room. The Pawn Stars pawn shop often has a line around the block waiting to get in. They have no FFL, so there won't be anything made in the 20th century there. You can buy an all day bus pass for $7, which for me is well worth it. Take the Deuce bus north from the strip, let the driver know you want to go to the pawn shop, and he'll call it out to you when you get there. I've only been to Mt. Wilson briefly, but I want to go back and spend some time.

Have fun!

I could point you to several solid gun shops about 450 miles North of Vegas. ;)

Guys two of the very best gun shops in utah or anywhere else are in the small town of beaver. Beaver is only population 3,000. Its on I-15 50 miles north of cedar city, or call it a 100 north of st george.
Clarance runs the beaver sport and pawn. It`s in a ancient old hotel. Less than a block away is a new fine gun shop that just opened a few months ago. Both are as good and big as most I have ever seen anywhere!

"the gun store" right off the strip rents full auto ( or did a few years ago last i was there.

BTW, i live about 5 minutes from the Arlen Ness HQ in Dublin CA. his showroom is like a museum with all the cool old bikes over the years hes built/ accumulated.

wife and i are going to Vegas in a few weeks for 1 night my buddy has to be there all that week for a "work" conference and were gonna fly down and party for 1 extra nite with him and his wife is coming with us. I got my folks to agree to take BOTH kidlets for the nite. they woudlnt do 2 nites. my wife and I together have not been both away from the kids since the 1st one was born 3+ years ago. 1 of us each has been able to take a nite off to go party with the boys/ girls overnite in tahoe. looking forward to a night off but also sad as i miss my little ones.

The buffet at the Silverton is great. The Bass Pro attached has a Fine Gun Room.

IIRC, the Fine Gun Room has gone at that Bass Pro. Mind you, I have not been there in about a year. The gun counter in Bass Pro usually has some breathtaking prices, and not in a good way.

There is American Shooters up on Arville and Spring Mountain, The Gun Store on Tropicana East of the the Strip past the airport and Discount on Highland. My advice is DO NOT go to Citadel as they just got raided for receiving stolen goods from Nellis AFB. Over on one of the AR15 forums there is a thread about that store's history and I am glad I have never been there.

There are a bunch of small gunstores out in Henderson, mostly on the Boulder Strip. Google/Yellow pages are your friends.

I recall that now too. About a year ago the last time I was there they said they shipped all their gun libary to I think, the salt lake store. I remember seeing those outrageous prices on the old classics. I think they still sold modern "christmas tree" guns though.
