I do not think it is available yet but looks like a winner. Very close in looks to the Kahr PM 9 without a slide release lever (but it does lock back) Price is good and was originally built with the 40 SW in mind. I like that the internal chassis is the frame and serial numbered part.

Here is the website with a good video on the gun:

Hmmm...looks like they are trying to compete with the SigSauer P250 series.

1) The little button that deactivates the striker. You need a punch or pen to operate. Will this button engage itself accidentally?
Is this some kind of PC CYA safety?
2) The sights are held on by Allen screws. 1.25 mm wrench needed.
Will the sights be falling off. Will they strip out? Will you drop the wrench down in the couch? Does Loc-Tite come with it?
3) You need another punch to change the mag release.
4) You need a little flat head screw driver (or the rim of a 380 case) to actuate the disassembly cam. How many times can you actuate it before it starts stripping out?
5) You can get down in the nooks and crannies to clean, if you have the mechanical aptitude. If you don't have the mechanical aptitude, what then?

This may be the greatest concealed carry pistol ever made but those 5 points have given me pause. I would not buy the first one that came out.

I can disassemble all of my pistols without any tools, including my 1911s,Glocks, XDs ect. That's all I'm saying.
I've been a process mechanic for over 30 years and I am payed to recognize potential problems with complexed equipment. I am not saying this pistol is good or bad, just listing potential problems. Time will tell. ;)

What no Glock "armorer" tool??:D How do you push the pins out?

I can do a 1911 without tools.

I got to look at one of these yesterday. I was tempted to buy it at $429.. I had to repeat "I'm a revolver guy" about 15 times while I held it. The early release ads I saw last fall said it came with a second magazine. I asked the gun guy and he was gonna get the box and look. I knew if he came back with a box and second mag I'd be sucked into the new gun vortex. So I gave him the gun back and scurried out the door.

Chicken!:D

I went and looked at one also and kinda like it. It's heavier than I thought it would be. Wait a year and then get one.;)

On some other forums there are some pretty complete reviews. One review is from the former owner of this site.

I have been looking at one and am considering it. It "looks" like a Glock 26/27 holster will fit it (there's a photo of one in a G26 IWB), but I want to know if it will fit in a G26 ankle holster that has no thumbsnap-retained by friction only. But, I can't find a place where both the gun and holster are available and I don't want to buy the holster and then find out it won't work.

Or, I'll maybe wait till someone makes a holster specifically for it.

Then again, maybe an LC9.

Eh, it looks like a Kahr, and the price is too high. *Yawn*
Ruger is bringing out a .22 that looks like a Walther P22 and about the same price. *sigh*
Ruger is also bringing out a cheapo rifle that looks like yer-o-pee'n in flavor with a Savage price tag on it. *another yawn*

In the voice of an old lady: "Where's the class and innovation?"

I'm not at all impressed with anything so far, but then, I'm a curmudgeon. It all looks like cheap plastic junk to me.

I brought my Kahr PM9 when I went to look at it. I compared them side by side this way and that. The Kahr is a tad smaller and lighter so no real advantage for me. I will say the fit, finish and overall "quality" appears to be very good. I like it better than the Kimber Solo and far better than the Rugers offerings and I like Ruger.(some)

Wonder when SW will copy someones design.:D Perhaps they should just bring back the 3919.

I'm really glad my dept. only authorizes revolvers for pocket carry so I don't have to deal with any of this...okay, we are allowed the chiefs special 9mm, but it don't float my boat...

Rule3-Yes, he was very nice, wasn't he? That is if you are referring to P...b..... as Mr. 9mm. Most folks there never have a problem unless they do/say something idiotic. Then they get smacked pretty sharply and publicly.

My thinking is that I want a very flat 9mm to ankle-carry all the time. I carry my 642 with CT grips, but, for example, when shooting at my Trap Club, I take it out of my pocket. Yeah, I know, why a 38 or 9 when I have a 12ga. in my hand?

I had a PM-9 for several years, so I am thinking about another gun. No particular reason, just thinking of another.

I have even considered the LCP w/CT, but haven't found an ankle holster for it that I like. I want no strap, just retention by the pressure of the holster.

The Nano is just a little heavier, loaded, than a Model 36 which, of course, I have-so why don't I just drop it in my Renegade and forget the auto?

I don't know.

Yes, we are speaking of the same person. It was a very good review and not from a gun rag writer who likes everything.

Its a very nice gun and I will probably end up with one in the future.

Go to their web site and watch the 1000 round test. They degrease it, and fire it with no lube, non stop. It's believable.

Simple is always good.

This is an old thread but I saw it as I was looking at threads on the new Shield.
As it happens I have a nano and just got a Shield today.
The Nano has been a good pistol for me, I've not shot it a huge amount, probably 200 rounds, but it has been flawless so far.
It is true you have to have a tool to field strip it but I think Beretta's idea was to have it as snag free as possible, including no take down lever. It wasn't meant to take into a combat zone where rapid field stripping would be an issue, its a concealed carry pistol, pure and simple. I don't know about you but I've never seen a reason why I would need to do an emergency field stripping on my carry pistol.
I've not had a reason to remove the sights on my pistol but I like the idea that it can be done without an armorer or some special pusher. Seems to me to be an advantage if you happen to need a different height sight to zero a particular load or want to switch to night sights.
The biggest concern I've seen on the pistol is the trigger action. Its good but closer to a da only than something like the M&P. Thats not necessarily a bad thing but I'm so used to the M&P or a traditional double action/single action that its different enough to be its own thing.
Overall, its a well designed pistol with what I believe to be some advanced features. I think the Shield is going to work out better for me personally but if I didn't have several M&Ps already I'd be pleased to make it a main carry gun.

Not to side track: I've got a Nano I really like. I hope Beretta follows thru with promised additional options to be available on this gun. The addition I'd like to see most is a 7 rd. mag.. I've found that the +0 Kahr mag extension fits the Nano mag..

The fit and finish of the NANO is excellent. It is a solid gun with a metal "chassis".
For take down or field stripping the only "tool" needed is a cartridge or a coin to turn the slotted head where a lever would be. There is no need to use the striker release button, just pull the trigger (on a empty gun) like a Glock.
