Sorry, but I'm Spaniard and I'm not familiar to your slang.
I'm driving crazy with the terms you use, such as M & P, or Sigma & SD.
Probably it is very easy once you know, but until then...
Could anyone be nice to explain to me in plane language?

M&P = Military and Police just a model name.
Sigma the model name. SD in what context? Most likely Self Defense.

M&P = Military & Police ... one of the smith and wesson product lines
Sigma ... another product line
SD = self defense

Jose, they are just names of models of revolvers and semi autos. M&P means military and police. I dont know what sigma and SD means either.
I suppose M&P is suppose to suggest to us if they are good enough for the military and police they are suppose to good for us too! American companys are famous for putting names on stuff that means absolutly nothing to anybody!

M&P is short for Military and Police. That's a model of S&W. Used to be a 38 special revolver, but now they call a couple of rifles and three or four automatic pistols M&Ps. If you click on M&P Handguns, you will see five automatics and a revolver. If you click on M&P Rifles you will see four rifles.
SD9 & SD40 - Smith & Wesson

Sigma is a S&W auto pistol. I believe it's a copy of a Glock.
Sigma Series - Smith & Wesson

SD can mean Self Defense, but it is also a model of S&W automatic pistol.
