I have a target rifle equipped with a Redfield Palma Match rear sight. When I turn the elevation knob, nothing happens. I think the elevation threads are stripped. Does anyone know someone who repairs these things? Help!!

If you look at the area just below the dome of the elevation knob you should see maybe on or two allen screws. Could be that maybe that the screws have loosened out of adjustment and basically the knob just turns and you do not get any elevation changes. Use the smallest allen wrench you have to retighten these screws the may only be one. Back when I had better eyes I would completely disassemble mine, clean and lubricate them and reassemble them. Don't do that anymore as the eyes cannot see the small parts like when I was younger. Try google, for iron sight repairs. You may get lucky. Just because they aren't made anymore does not mean that they aren't being used. The warner in both its versions is a much better iron sight, until you get a look at the price. Olympics and the internationals usually sell from $150 and up depending on condition. The palmas usually go for about two hundred $$$. Check the CMP as they usually do sell the palma sights and may have some still for sale. Frank

I have the name and address of the foremost rebuilder of Redfield sights. He was the shop foreman for Redfield and has re-built 3 of my Redfield International's. I will search my files and get it to you. He lives in Colorado and has re-built several sights for my friend Lones Wigger Jr.

Phil Scholl has also redone my Palm Match sights and I could not be more pleased.

You should call Champion Shooting Supply in New Albany, Ohio. HE usually has some in stock. 614-855-1603 11am-5pm eastern. Carl is a great guy with a lot of knowedge. Ivan

A re-built Redfield International or Palma is a very good sight. If it was good enough for Wigger it is certainly up to my standards and then some.
