Has anyone figured out how to fix a or disassemble a Safariland Comp II speed loader? The Comp IIIs are pretty simple to take apart but I don't see a way into the Comp II.

My Comp IIs are getting really stiff from dropping them into the dust and dirt at IDPA matches and no longer work very well to release rounds.

This may work

I don't have any Safariland speed loaders, so I don't know if they come apart for cleaning, or not. I do have a suggestion for you though.

I had several Ruger 10/22 magazines that were no longer working properly, and I could not disassemble them for cleaning. I popped them in my ultra-sonic cleaner for a few minutes, and they worked perfectly after. If you have access to an untra-sonic cleaner that may work for you.

Harbor Freight has a small inexpensive one available if you don't have access to one, but I don't know how well it works.

Good Luck,
Tom

I still have some from 20plus years ago, a couple of which got used pretty hard. They still work fine.

You might try leaving one in the pocket of a pair of pants and letting it go through the wash. Who knows, it might stand just going through by itself. A hair dryer would probably get most of the moisture out; then maybe put it in the sun.

They're pretty tough little critters.

Thanks for the suggestions gentlemen! I don't know that I want to spend the bucks on an ultrasonic cleaner, but I will ask the guys I shoot with if anyone has one that I can try. In any case, I'll try the laundry idea, as one of them is now so stiff that I have nothing much to lose. I don't think that it's hard use that is causing the problem, just New Mexico dust.
