Manufacturers all over the country are telling leftist states they will no longer sell them guns or ammunition if the private citizens of that state cannot buy the same. Nearly a hundred companies so far, as I recall.

But S&W?... DEAD SILENCE!!

In light of the fact that S&W betrayed gun owners once before, maybe we should build a bonfire under them now, before they have a chance to consider the weasel road to which they are accustomed.

Though I love my S&W revolvers, I do not trust S&W the company not to stab us in the back, AGAIN!

Anyone interested in letting S&W know what will happen to their sales if they don't sign on? (Granted Glock, Remington, Sig, Ruger and others have not signed up either, but they have no history of 2nd Amendment betrayal like S&W.)

I would like to see a large American manufacture like S&W boycott these states. I feel if one of the big ones were to do it then the others may follow.

The present S&W management had NOTHING to do with the "betrayal"...
JIM........................

Yeah, and the present occupant of the White House had nothing to do with the Patriot Act. What is your point?

Silence IS betrayal!

It might be of value to read the link below to help understand the silence.

Corporate sales policy decisions are not always easy to implement.

Not sure I see the point? That is one of many. My point is that S&W IS NOT one of many, or even one of ANY. If the big manufacturers do not stand up right now, you can count on draconian new gun laws. If S&W signs on, the others will surely follow in rapid order.

My point is that, based on past behavior, S&W needs to be let know right now that there will be a huge price to pay if they remain silent.

And Joe Biden is willing to let us have double-barreled shotguns. It just ain't enough. This is the end game. It is "all in", right now.

But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe we should put the pressure on S&W at some later, distant time. You know, like when they start talking about banning "assault" lever-action rifles and magazines holding more than two rounds.

What's happening right now is what the leftists have been after for 80+ years. What is happening right now is the winning move for gun confiscation. They may not actually start picking them up for a handful of years, but the laws they need to begin doing so are the ones they are about to pass now. Silent manufacturers are acquiescing manufacturers. They are either on our side, or the leftist's side. There is no middle of the road and no such thing as a gun manufacturer who supports the 2nd Amendment but remains only slightly committed. If the feds see no threat, the feds WILL NOT back down.

If I am supposed to take offense at this, you are going to have to be more clear. I don't get the reference.

It's a reference to Handejector, the forum owner, who uses a gorilla picture as his avatar...he will probably consider this a political thread and nuke it.

Well, sure. I guess we wouldn't want S&W owners to try to push S&W to do the right thing. Now isn't the time for S&W owners to be political. (Maybe there is some other S&W forum where S&W owners should be organizing to preserve their rights.) Maybe AFTER they take all our guns. You know, maybe NEXT YEAR!

So if this thread gets nixed, where do you fellas suggest we get together, organize and push S&W to stand up to governments?

Maybe Oprah has a slot open!

Goodbye troll.

Let us not make posts that include references to 'taking offense' and such.

Instead, use that energy to take the time to write to both our state and federal representatives expressing our concerns. In addition, call them.

We are in agreement up to here.

Here, we are no longer in agreement.
Others have tried to point out how a corporation operates.
Do you have any knowledge of corporate structure?
It works like this-
NONE of the officers of a corp have the authority to state that the corp will deny legal sales to a large part of their market.
The Board of Directors DO NOT have the authority to state that the corp will deny legal sales to a large part of their market.
That is because THOUSANDS of people usually own a large corp. They are called shareholders, and own the stock.
The Officers and BOD would probably be canned for denying a large amount of profitable business. The shareholders alone could vote to take such a position.

Sooooooo,
all you need to do is get a list of shareholders and contact them all. :D
Then, you can start on Ruger, Glock, Remington.....

You ought to mix a little bit of brain with that mouth.

If you look, you might notice we have a 2A forum.
We've been walking the walk, not just talking the talk, EVERY day since Sandy Hook.
You haven't posted on this board before today in almost 13 months.
I guess we're lucky you showed up to tell us how to do it. ;)
I also notice that the last 150 of your posts before tonite are in the Classifieds, so I find it ironic that you are here today to tell us and S&W what we need to do.

I would actually like to see the major maufacturers quit selling in the repressive states, but given the fact that control is actually held by the investors, it is not likely.
Still, it would not hurt to tell them our feelings.

If you really think about it, though, that's probably exactly what the leftist states would like Smith & Wesson, and all other firearm manufacturers for that matter, do.

They aren't concerned about the economical logic of the matter. History has shown us that they really don't care about that.

They'd love to have Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington, et al, quit selling firearms in their states.

So...my question...why do we want to play into their hands???

You raise an excellent point.
I just think in the long run their agencies would be screaming if Rossi and Taurus was all they could buy. ;)

It is a lot harder for a large corp with stock holders to make this kind of decision than say a small company that maybe has no stockholders. The name of the game in business is the bottom line for stockholders!
