NY Legal: Let's list all the guns with 7-round magazines!
To commemorate April 15 2013 as both the day NY state's 7-round magazine loaded limit goes into affect and Federal/State Tax Day lets list all the handguns (and rifles and shotguns if you want) which comply.
Please list all handgun models which have a 7-round magazine or capacity. +1 in the chamber is allowed.
I will start off with the Smith & Wesson Pre-Rail 3913TSW. It has a 7-round magazine.
To everyone living in a free state or even a state with a 10-round limit, don't let this happen to you.
NOTE: Handguns with 8-10 rounds including 10-round magazines loaded to 7-rounds are legal in NY, but are NOT to be included in this post.

This one. And I'd feel pretty well armed with it, too.

And it's little brother
If I have to go through NY, it will be with my Colt Officer's Model - 7 rounds of .45 in a concealable package.

Walther PPK/S and the PPK holds 6 + 1. I like to carry either one 'cause they're so flat.

If you can still find them;
the early tactical 3913s were 7 rds. and
S&W did make a 7rd flush fit (steel bottom) mag for the 3913/14. IIRC it shipped with the early "Lady Smith"s
LOL but liberals actions always generate just the opposite of their intent......... a lot more people in NY will be getting shot w/ .45s. The gun of choice will be the 1911 pattern in .45apc. !!!!!!!!!

The excellent Star M-43 Firestar. Gun of the Year back around 1991 or so. Kinda like a 1911 scaled down for .380 , yet it's really a 9mmP. Original mags hold 7 rounds. A bit heavy because it's all steel , but it'll handle the hottest +P ammo. Accurate too. Like it so much I own 2.
Remember the New York reload is a second loaded gun!

The 1911 and Shield will likely be the autopistols of choice. I'll be carrying revolvers if I go home for my aunt's 100th birthday celebration in October.

I agree with all of the 1911 in .45acp fans 100%
My dad told me that when his uncle returned to New York from fighting in Frace during World War I, he brought back a 1911; it worked for New Yorkers then and will today.

Last year I bought a Pachmayr pistol box. It had these inside, fit the bill perfectly as there is no way to put an 8th rd in. Just in case I lose my mind and move back north. Joe

Just don't leave it behind at the Motel while passing thru.
South Carolina Man Arrested for Handgun Possession - Rochester
The maid found it under the pillow. The hotel called the Sheriffs/Office. The Deputy had the staff call the guy from the hotel on his cell# he listed upon registering and ask him if he forgot 'something' when he checked out.
He said he did and would return to pick it up. He was arrested when he got back to the motel.
If he hadn't unpacked it and been locked in a case,,would FOPA been in play?
You can't be sure in places like NY.

We dont have to buy guns with a capacity of 7 rounds or less, buy whatever you want.
In 15 days we will be "back" to loading "10" rounds - whatever you did before the unsafe act was signed.

I hope so, but you might be too hopeful...
In New York City they are ONLY allowed to load 5 rounds in a magazine.
The 10 round magazine loaded to 7 rounds could stand the court challenge.

I would think brother will be searching high and low.
At my LGS, they won't even allow me to place an order for the 9mm Shield until they catch up filling the orders they have now.
Even though I was willing to pay the total amount in Cashola.

If any part of the law is thought to be unconstitutional the whole act is placed under the injunction. This is the first time magazine capacity law has been challenged. I may be too hopefull, but i believe.

No, it is my understanding you cannot make a long stop while transporting under FOPA.
Long stop would be like stopping in a tourist attraction, saying at a motel, visiting a relative. Short stop would be stopping getting gas, getting some food and continuing out of the state...

Makes it kinda tough if you're driving alone and going cross country!
I thought maybe if it was trigger locked and then locked in baggage w/o ammo, ect.,,maybe not.
Doing the 'gun under the pillow' trick is kinda goofy.
That it was loaded didn't help matters.
At least leave it on the nite stand right next to your wind up Mickey Mouse alarm clock.
No one would ever leave Mickey behind.
