Pachyderm invasion at Lakeland GS.
It's all Sal's fault! Went to the Lakeland Gunshow today with my enabler Sal aka ditrina. Met a guy I know at his table who wanted me to sponsor him on the SWCA, signed, done! Adorning either end of his table are two 6 1/2 foot Elephant toofs, that's what he and his partner do, make Ivory grips and sell them. Now, this is a real slippery place to bring Sal to. Sal spied what he was looking for as I watched my guy buy a set of J-frame magnas off a walker. Like they don't have enough ivory and finished grips already. After completing our shopping trip we both ended up under the giant toofs again. Sal got a beautiful set of Ivory Targets for one of his thousand 27s at a very good price. The hook is in now, I ask my guy what he could do on the set of J-frames, afterall he didn't really need them. He replied, "I'd done him a favor and he would repay the favor" and sold them to me for slightly over what he had in them. It's all Sal's fault, I am now probably ir-reversably addicted to toofies now.
The lighting didn't do these justice. Maybe Sal will show you his stolen grips.

Per the guy who sold them to my friend they are about the same age as the 1969 Model 60 they're on.

They are right in Lakeland FL. They also do SAA and just about any grip you can image. Google Gunner Products, all info is there.

I have an ivory problem as well.
But it mostly consist of rare woods along with the ivory. And of course there is that infamous signature that says Tascarella.
I'll let the imaginations go to work on my other "hobby".

Don't need an extra "Granny Stick" with one of those in hand.

I actually got to see that gun. Ivory checkered stocks and gold washed and engraved metal. Made for Maximillion of Mexico if I remember correctly. An 1873.
Now I can say I've seen two.

Great looking grips.
Right side-upper right bottom--is that a chip/gap ? appears the bottom of the grip doesn't quite extend to the frame ?

Jimmy that's a gap, no chip. I had just gotten them and threw them on the 60 for a picture taking and I knew they did not fit properly. These are the old school type that have a straight cut inside at the top to the frame and glued on half moon. The old glue was coming loose one panel anyway, so I removed both and re-glued them in the proper position to fit my gun. Now the fit like a glove with just a hair overhang on the butt, but I ain't messing with that.
