45 LC single action revolvers

I really like what Cimarron offers, and the prices are very reasonable.

The Cimarron 1858 is super nice in fit and finish. Accurate as all get out, and the trigger is WAY better than the Ruger single actions that I have had.....

Love the 1858 styling, and the factory conversion model that I have can handle any reasonable loadings.

Here are my .45 single actions.
1. Colt 3rd generation.
2. Cimmeron Dakota
3. Uberti silver plated George S Patton commebertive for American Historical Fondation.
4. Uberti Thunderer with .45 colt and ACP clyinders

I pulled this old hogleg out for deer hunting again this year. I bought it in 1973. Paid $100 for the revolver and a box of shells. I figured back then, from a rest, I was good to right at 100 yards. I killed a couple of deer with it, but none from nearly that distance. Now, I figure 50 yards is my absolute maximum. I settled on 9.2 grains of Unique under a 250 grain SWC, mostly because there is a Lee dipper that throws that charge. It is a good load. Hoping a doe stops at about 25 yards in the next few days. I would love to make meat with this one one more time.

This Lipsey's Flattop Convertible is my latest acquisition in .45 Colt, as well as .45 ACP.

A Sheriff's Model Vaquero in .45 Colt. The Birdshead New Vaquero is in .45 ACP. I have another Vaq in .45 Colt that I don't have a picture of.

Finally, a couple of long guns. A Rossi SS M92, and a Winchester Model 94, both "Trapper" length. I have had more fun recently with these two rifles than I have had in a long time. I have a video of me and a friend shooting one of the tumblers with .45 Colt rifles if I could figure how to post it. My two guns are the short ones. The octagon barrel Marlin is a .45. It and the EBR belong to a friend.

I will admit to two addictions, S&W and USFA revolvers. These are my lastest ones obtained.

I have a Thunderer in 45 Colt. it is the most accurate single action 45 I have, on the first shot. The birds head grip pivots in my hand no matter how light of load I use. The long grip frame of the old Vaquero Beasley is the best I've found for sustained fire. I bought out a Cowboy shooter's bucket of 45 Scofield ammo (750 light reloads) for about $50 5 or 6 years ago. They work fine in the Vaqueros I have but even better is they work in my old Rossi 92's, makes a 10 round gun into about a 14 round gun. I have 2 Italian clones that are down for repairs. They are locked up with broken springs, I'll fix them one of these days and I be back up to 4 pairs of 45 Colts. I've played with the insides of 1 pair of Rugers and some parts drop in and some take hours to fit in. But a good set of Wolfe springs will go a long way to making any Ruger into a dream gun! Ivan

Just bought this one back. I sold it to a friend of mine. But he had trubbles with it. The primers wont go off and did not fire the cartridge.

I did know the problem and told him the solution to it. But he wants to sell it off anyway. So I bought it back. The Uberti Schofield does not go anywhere now and will keep it till it is scrap metal.

The problem is that this is an older model Uberti Schofield. That has an thicker Mainspring. The newly made one is much thinner.

So the Original spring broke down after about 16 year (not bad for an Uberti). Becouse the repleacement spring is thinner It do not give enough power to hit the primer to fire it. The solution is to place a piece of metal equal the size of the broad of the mainspring and place that right after the spring in the frame. The spring is bend a bit more and gets more power. I have sold this problem before with a piece of wood. But that gets worn out.

I hope that I make my self clear with my bad English.

I will take the Schofield out to the range tonight and see how it works.
The Colt SAA 3e generation is now in backup if the Schofield fails.

I don't have a photo of my .45 Colt vaquero, but here is one of my 10mm Vaquero. It was worked on by Alan Harton of Houston, TX. The S&W J-Frame sights are done VERY well!
