Yup! I visited the Texas Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco about 2 years ago. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there. It simply an amazing place that honors amazing men and women. You can spend hours in there and not absorb it all. Very cool!

Jimmy,
I recall one that is retired....They did a write up about her in Texas Monthly one time.
I worked with a woman officer one time, she was six foot-two and mean as a rattler

Jimmy are you talking about "killer" as in she will shoot you or "killer" as in YOWSA!!! That makes a big difference in my answer.

Yep. There sure are female Rangers. One of them shut down a speed trap town and arrested city officials therein not too long ago.

Hi, Dave:
In my career I have worked with Female Officers also. Most were Hard Chargers that weren't bashful about jumping right into physical altercations. AND weren't bashful about "Popping A Cap/ Burning Gunpowder" if the need arose.
A few was very interested about my five LEO sons being single. I kept my one Daughter a secret until she came by my office one day to say "Hi". Then the guys on my shift had a ton of questions about why I never told them about my Daughter.

The show is apparently on the chopping block after 1 episode and is sooooooo bad the reviewers are saying it's a spoof

I saw that show. Supposed to be just seven episodes in the series.
It was pretty good, and not as hokey as I'd expected. Her Lt. is too countrified with an exaggerated hat, and hers leans in that direction. A real Ranger's Stetson is neat and not too grungy. More like J.R. Ewing's hat.
Keep in mind the Rangers are an elite investigative unit, not the regular DPS Highway Patrol.
I think they did better by the San Antonio police than they did by the Rangers. They didn't milk SA well as a setting, if they were even really there. Didn't see the Alamo or the River Walk, etc.
Hollywood is so biased and so drenched in its own stereotypes that it probably cannot represent the Texas Rangers realistically. This attempt is not bad by that standard.
I think the title, Killer Women may refer to the fugitives.

For what it is worth, in case some Hollywood type makes a show about her. Bonnie Parker, as in Bonnie and Clyde, was a good Texas girl who is not known to have shot or killed anyone. Her boyfriend Clyde is a different matter. The only thing Bonnie was even known to shoot at was bottles and tin cans. The newspapers and crime magazines back in the 1930s were as loose with the truth than as they are now. Bonnie got a bad rap for being a gun moll.

The show seemed hokey, but Ms. Helfer is a killer. I will not be explaining that to those who don't understand it, lest the Gorilla and his minions take offense.

I did not think the Texas Rangers would have female Rangers.
I went to the Texas Rangers website and looked at the rosters for all of the five(?) companies in Texas. Two women Rangers. I have to admit one looked pretty "hot".
I watched the show's opening program. Won't watch it again.
In today's world with high-capacity armaments, body armor, stun guns, tactical batons (I think they are called that), backup, etc.; I would assume most LEO's, regardless of sex, can handle most situations.
I wouldn't want to be in their shoes for any amount of money. God bless all of them.

Oh, is that Tricia Helfer? I came in late to the episode and just thought that she looked familiar, I guess from her VS catalog work and from, Battlestar Gallactica.
Frankly, given the quality of most of today's TV programming, I thought it was a fairly good show. I hope it wasn't been cancelled.
BTW, Tricia Helfer is not a Texan. She's Canadian.

Just saw on an entertainment show that the show is on ABC tonight and that producer Sophia Vergara may do a cameo role soon.
The presence of Senorita Vergara may keep the show on, as she seems to be a Hollywood darling now.
The star is indeed Tricia Helfer and the title does refer to the quarry: female killers.
So we have a Columbian producer and a Canadian star making a cop show in New Mexico. Isn't cooperation among the Americas great?
Seriously, we needed a good show on Tue. nights to follow CBS's, NCIS. This could be it.

I did a little study on them and yeah, she didn't shoot anybody but some say that she did return fire in a few arrest attempts. Pretty much the same that Blanche Barrow did and she only served 6 years of a 10 year stretch. She even got state of the art care for her injured eye

I watched the first episode and felt the same way about it. Too hokey. I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be a comedy or what. If it had been done a little more seriously and realistically, it could have had legs.

All the reviewers are saying that if it had gone the other way and been a spoof it would have been great. One also said that in the first episode if the woman in the red dress had been Sofia Vergara (I totally spelled that wrong) it would have been perfect

NCIS LA is nearly a spoof, and the best reason to watch it is Daniela Ruah.

Much like male officers I've come across some that are excellent and some that should have gone into some other line of work. 30 odd years old I had a female sergeant who was tiny but tough as nails. Saw her on a couple of occasions bring 6 foot guys to their knees in tears. Impressive.

WELL...I'M A BIG FAT LIAR!!
I watched it again last night as the War Department was watching it and I decided I wanted to spend time with her.
Glad I did, the female "bad person" was a looker!
So's my darling bride but a still living-breathing man has to look.................

Hard to do that since it was filmed here in Albuquerque!

The "Hot" one was probably used for "Under cover" ops ?
Saw the tv show...........
All the leather and metal hanging from her hips............
Don't know about this show?
Did notice that there are a LOT of LE type shows on, though.
Must be the times?

Did anyone see this weeks episode? Quite a bit of talk about how the VA was not taking care of vets the way they should, etc. The villain was a medic who was robbing banks and giving the money to disabled vets. The Ranger was asked by the "bad girl" what she (the Ranger) had done for vets. At the end, she was either at the airport or bus station and saluted a young soldier and thanked him. Pretty good episode I thought except...the FBI sniper had the girl in his crosshairs with the obligatory scene as if looking through the scope. Only problem was he had a Butler Creek scope cover on the back (little red lever) and the scope cover was CLOSED!
