Be Careful With Bluetooth
I was in a store today when my phone rang, I tried to answer, but couldn't hear anyone. My wife was outside, in my car with the engine running. She told me she could hear everything my caller said. No problems today, but I could see the possibility.

I thought your cell had to be IN the car for the Bluetooth to work. Is there a range distance or something I don't know about.

I always thought blue tooth had a range of about 25-35 feet... So that's rather impressive. If your blue tooth paired with the car when you were first in it, and you left it on when you got out, I could see it if you didn't shut it off and were within that range, but any more than that... Your car has to be picking up the transmission somehow...

Good thing it wasn't the LGS calling about a firearm you bought but didn't tell your wife about.

I often have to remember to shut off the BT when my cars is in service or getting washed. It always seems like people call me at that time and I end up looking like an idiot saying hello over and over again.
And yes, you are lucky it wasn't someone "else" on the other end of the phone LOL

I had the same problem and being a tech idiot it took a few times to figure out what was happening. I finally disabled my Bluetooth.

It's for this very situation that I ONLY use portable Bluetooth devices and never activate in-vehicle devices.
