Forgot To Tell The Dog About The Clock Change

The dog is lazy here but the dang cat insisted on being fed at 4:30AM. So much for the extra hour of sleep.

Last fall, our dog Molly took almost 5 months to realize a time change took effect. Every morning----0530. However, she let me sleep in this morning til 7 WITH the time changed. Maybe it'll be different this time.

Annie and Beau care nothing about the end or the beginning of Daylight Saving Time, and they care even less about getting up early. They get as much sack time as possible before beginning their day of protecting their property from critters and other potential intruders. It's a dog's life.

Gee, I feel a little left out. We don't do daylight savings in Arizona (except on the Navajo reservation). However, I fondly remember the day I got an extra hour of sleep in Alabama in 1983 -- sleep being the most coveted prize in Army basic training.

Don't feel left out. You're extremely fortunate that you live in a state that doesn't subscribe to a national silliness of...well, of national proportions. DST is a hoax, and the majority of the country falls for it every year.

I think if God had wanted us to have more hours in the day, He would have made the Earth rotate slower on its axis.

A guy I used to work with which ever way we turned the clocks he couldn't wake up on time, I used to call him every morning for about a month, until he got used to getting up on time.:)

When my now wife was living in Grand Rapids Mich..........on the eastern edge of Central time....... summer sunsets were close to 10PM w/ DST.....and sunrise was after 6am!!!!

Here in "The Burgh" it's more like 9PM and 5:15am..................

There's always one person who doesn't get the word. This time i'ts me.

Make that two!! I stayed up late watching the end of the Stanford/Washington State game (great game BTW). When I woke up, my bedroom clock showed 9:30. As I walked into the living room, I looked at the fancy programmable thermostat and it showed 8:30, wall clock showed 9:30. I thought my thermostat clock was fubared.:o After turning the TV on and seeing the time, I FINALLY remembered the time change. Can't get anything by me!:D

Annie and Beau got quite a nice dog bed!!!:)

Yes, they do. Their "dog bed" is actually a queen size futon that sits about eight inches off the floor. The majority of the time, I end up sleeping in that room, cause I fall asleep reading. There is room for all of us.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but as cold weather approaches, I'm grateful for the dogs' presence. Two big dogs put out a lot of body heat, saving me money on heating bills. Of course, they kick in their sleep a good bit...they have legs like pile drivers...but over the years I've gotten used to it and am just barely aware of it now.

Was within 30 seconds of taking my wife a cup of tea when I saw this........she loves the extra hour before church.......

I'd have gotten a ear full!!!!!!

Hope that would have been the end of the tea deliveries...

My little sack rat is getting on for eleven, I think (he's a rescue), but can go up to twelve hours at night without having to go out. Typically he stays in bed for a while after I get up.

I'm a very lucky guy. :)

If the sun don't go down purty quick, I'm gonna have to go to bed with it still being daylight.:o

Flint just went to bed by himself. By my math he's about two hours early.
