A Very Good Dog Crossed The Rainbow Bridge Today.

My niece's dog died in his sleep this morning. He was 17, and just wore out. She got him from a shelter 15 years ago.

This was her first dog of her own. The reality of the loss has not even set in yet. I am so sad for her.

This picture was taken of him two days ago...

Sorry for your loss, been through it many times. Hope you get another Dog soon. Dogs fill a special place in our hearts and when they leave us we need to get another to fill the heart.

My wife and I had two dogs over a span of about 35 years. First one was going on 18 and dog number two, going on 19 when we took them in.
The dog you see in my avatar is a new acquisition on 02.02.2024.
She was a rescue at about one year old.
What I am learning about her is that she knows a lot more than we know she knows.

She is kennel trained, leash trained and very patient with us.
We walk 2.5 miles everyday of the week, every week.
She's young. We aren't. We will not age with her around.
We couldn't have been luckier to have found this one to take home.

They can bring a special happiness like no other.

The guy in my avatar was the best dog I ever had. Extremely loyal. He loved his truck rides. He was just short of seven years. He's been gone almost a year. I miss him day.

This is tearing me up. I went through this 3 years ago last week with my last collie Alexander. A month later I got (2) 8 week old collie pups, brothers that are almost indistinguishable. They helped remove the sting a lot but I still miss Alexander.
