It's been nice having Kevin play for the OKC Thunder the last 8 years and I can understand him wanting to make a little more money. The Golden State Warriors offered him 54 million dollars to shoot hoops for them for only two years and that's probably a tiny bit more than we wanted to pay. Its just kind of sad that players switch teams in pro sports so often now. Joe Montana was the face of the 49ers for many years, Michael Jordan at Chicago, Marino with the Dolphins, now I don't know who plays on what team any more. I guess its all about the almighty dollar and the fame, and loyalty any more is pretty much insignificant.

I don't think money played a role in his decision. I think it's the desire to win a ring, coupled with his dislike of playing with Westbrook.

Watch a replay of Colin Cowherd's first segment of his Tuesday show. He has a pretty good theory on why players switch teams so frequently now.

He came darn close a couple times to getting a championship ring and this year it was pretty much on him why OKC lost to Golden State at the end of Game six. If he earned a ring in OKC it would be "because" of him, at Golden State he might win a ring because of all the other guys. If he wants a ring so bad he should just go buy one at a jewelry store. Golden State should now be able to kill every team they play and rest their star players when they need to. Should make a bunch of games pretty boring.

Players these days "follow the money". You see it all the time & in every sport. It is a little sad he's leaving OKC. The thing that saddens me the most is that he's not taking his talents to San Antonio!

I would agree with you in every other sport, but the salary structure in the NBA requires teams to spend X amount of dollars. Durant was getting a max contract no matter where he went. Or if he stayed.

the wife and I are not real big fans of the NBA (love college hoops though); but still followed it somewhat during the playoffs. When i mentioned KD going to the Warriors, all she said was "how can a team filled with all stars work together".... thought she had a good point.

After all, players enjoy the NBA all star game as it is one night of fun. But 82 nights with multiple players used to taking the big shots? Yeah that may take awhile to work itself out
