Years ago it was hard to find Levi's that would last as long as they did when I was a kid. Finally figured out they they were using thinner fabric. Then all the other stuff as to ownership and above-mentioned.
Wranglers nowadays.

Politics of the parent company aside, Levi's quality is not what it was decades ago. Their prices have always been high. I do have several pair as fashion statements.

I too have had very good luck with Carhart jeans (and their other clothing). The only place I remember buying Carhart jeans from is Cabela's, but their other clothing can be found at many stores.

Over the last two years I've become impressed by Wrangler products. If you need a relaxed fit jean, their Rugged Wear line is reasonably priced, good quality, and look like standard jeans. If you can fit in a slimmer cut, their Original Cowboy Cut 13 MWZ (Men's Wide Zipper) are a true rigid denim jean that get better with age. They come Sanforized and very stiff when new, but break in slowly and beautifully. I was just thinking about going to Academy today to buy another pair.

I did not know Levi Stauss had stores. Never seen one.

I've been buying the Academy house brand recently. They fit a bit large compared to the Levis - more like Wrangler, I guess. Decent jeans, and the price is hard to beat. $17.99 for the plain jane ones or 19.99 for the "fancy" styles. No, by fancy I don't mean the girly jeans with the embroidered pockets and tight legs that some of the young fellows are wearing these days.

Carhartt jeans, shirts and coats, seem to be well made and might outlast me.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I have no preference in jeans. As long as the look good and affordable. I don't really care what their politics is either since I've never actually seen one of their stores

I quit wearing Levi's a long time ago. I do not recall the reason. It was before I had any real interest in guns, so that wasn't it.

These days I wear Wrangler Riggs, which have a diamond gusset in the crotch, which makes them really comfortable. It also makes it easier for a short guy to throw a leg over a tall motorcycle. They also have a leather patch at the corner of the right front pocket, the perfect place to clip a knife.

They also offer Riggs in ripstop cotton, which I like even better.

Duluth Trading Company "ballroom jeans" are said to be very good. A friend has been buying them now for a couple years and says they're excellent. I hesitate ordering them online because I'm hard to fit. If I could go to the store and see if they fit I'd probably go with them.

I dumped Levi's when they shortened the fly by about an inch. Too difficult to get to the 'junk'; especially if one's in a hurry. I'm still looking for a replacement brand as I don't need "a skoosh more" in the butt either.

All I ware is Wrangler's, I tried Levi's once, my butt hurt from sitting on my wallet.
