just got back from th range
as stated above I went today to the sportsman indoor range in Glasgow KY
bought me a large roulette table target and commenced firing
had picked up a couple new to me guns over the last couple of days
so I had those and a couple of my 9mm service size guns
the list included and old model 10-8 heavy that I bought yesterday for $150, then I had a Sig 1911 45acp nightmare that was new to me retail at about $1100, took my Kimber stainless 45 ultra raptor. retail north of $1200., and a steyr m9ai, valued at about $450, and my Canik tp9sa cost new $328
started out right off shooting from a supported bench at 8yd line with the new Sig 1911, nice grouping all 8 holes touching in a close clover leaf,
then I moved to the Kimber and the little 3 " was good but not all touching
then I moved to the 9mm's the steyr and the Canik tp9sa, the Canik won that shoot off.
then I shot the old revolver, paid $150. for it yesterday, it had been a tackle box gun and was in really bad shape cosmetically but the old girl showed no signs of much firing and locked up as tight as any smith I have ever shot
5 rounds 1 hole about 5/8 inch in diameter, shot like a laser light
in fact while all the guns were very capable and accurate there was no question the old wheel gun with out fancy sights wins hands down, the canik came in a close second with the Sig taking 3rd, and the Kimber/steyr tied in the rear of the pack
same shooter different guns and the cheap guns won
