Cough Drops, Throat Lozenges, Life Savers, etc. ?
Tis the season!
Can you suck on one all the way to nothing?
Or do you end up biting it into pieces?
Preferred brand and flavor?

I have a chronic cough that's a side effect of a BP prescription. I need to
get it changed. But no, I can't suck them all the way to nothing. I have
to chew up the last 20% or so. I like the sugar free Great Value brand
at Walmart.

Dad kept these around for when we were ailin'. I got used to them and they have become synonymous with 'sore throat'.
A few shops nearby sell them.
PS: ifin ya wanna rip out yer fillin's, bite down on a Jolly Rancher.

Walgreen's used to have their brand of Dad's Rootbeer cough drops. They were the best but they no longer make them anymore.
Ricolah are decent and get the job done.
I also get down to about 20% then bite them as they are too small.

Those Walgreens Root Beer Barrels were good.
I keep Jolly Ranchers around.
I don't chew on hard candy.

Any time I talk about feeling like I am coming down with something Mom has me sucking on zinc and vitamin C lozenges. Yes, I do melt them all the way down.

I just replenished my supply this week. My wife used to give me them anytime she suspected a cold coming on. I haven't had a cold in years.

Hall's lemon has the 2nd most menthol. They have one stronger, but it is INTENSE!

In the hospital last year I found out about the Lisinopril cough. Haven't been coughing nearly as much since I got that out of my regimen.
Nonetheless, I go through a lot of cough drops. Since I need to avoid sugar, Ricola Lemon Mint sugar free is my preference, because the big bags are easy to find. I have to go a little farther for the original herb flavor without sugar. If my throat is really raw I will go to Fisherman's Friend.
I usually suck them down to nothing, but it's no big deal if I don't.

I agree; not too tasty but it just plain works. Too bad I've misplaced the only bag of them I had.

The flavor of these, as requested by the OP, can best be described as " NASTY". Since we can't taste these little gems over the internet, the all caps and bold font denotes their intensity.
Fisherman's Friend work so well that I expect them to be outlawed one of these days as they probably have some type of controlled substance present?

I like Vick's Cherry lozenges. Hard to find around here for some reason, but I found a box last fall. Offered them to my wife when she got sick recently, she acted like I was down on one knee with diamond in hand.
That's love.

Grandma turned me on to horehound drops.
Always keep a sack around the house.
Otherwise it's a mint Lifesaver jammed into a Milk Dud.

It's Fisherman's Friend for me. They don't taste the best, but boy, do they work!
I haven't had Horehound candies in YEARS, but they used to be a favorite of mine.

I like the Horehound for a sore throat.
I tried Fisherman's Friend once but I would rather put a hot Coal on My Tongue before trying those again,Wow are They strong.

Luden's Wild Cherry cough drops for as long back as I can remember. I don't know how effective they were, but they were a good stand-in if the candy jar was empty. When they started disappearing too quickly, the Hall's Mentholyptus showed up....they were used ONLY when you had a real need. No idea of the brand, but I remember some pine-tar monstrosities....we would do anything to muffle or hide any sign of a cough or scratchy throat if we new ma had some of those in the house.
Now Lifesavers....Dad usually had some part of a roll of Butter Rum flavored Lifesavers - it was a treat to get one of "his", so they of course became my favorite as well.
