I bought some gunsmithing books. I should be getting them in soon. Don't worry, I don't plan on butchering my revolver, or anyone else guns. But I do plan on getting worn out guns to practice with this summer.

#1 on your list should be books that have disassembly and reassembly instructions of which there are a fair amount out in the market.
#2 should be a large set of gunsmith screwdrivers, helps to prevent buggered up screw slots.
#3 get yourself a decent vise with jaw protectors to prevent marking up rifles and shotguns or handguns you plan on working on. Hope this helps. Frank

I have two sets of gunsmith screwdrivers. I also have pin punches. The next thing I need is a gun vice.

For jaw protectors, you can make them out of 1/2" plywood and use the brass furniture pins to hold a cheap piece of carpet on the plywood, just use the pins to hold the carpet so they do not come in contact with any firearm you happen to be working upon. Just cut an U shaped hole so that they fit over the saddle that covers the vise handle screw. Have fun. Frank

Beware the Dremels.

But be sure to have a variety of stones for polishing by hand.

And it won't hurt to have one of those visor head sets with a magnifier lens.

Yeah, I have some tools. I need a vice, some polishing stones and so on. My plan is to collect the rest I need over the next few months. There is always some old timer that sells older revolvers at the local flee market. Hell, this one guy sells revolvers that look like the came off the ark.
