Default Movies on Direct TV

Yesterday was a momentous occasion in the annals of TV watching...at least for me! I was searching the channels and came up with a movie I had never seen, heard of or even dreamed that may have existed. The name of the movie was Night of the Lepus. It had a major cast of older stars including Rory Calhoun and Janet Leigh Stuart Whitman DeForrest Kelly and the character actor Paul Fix.. I actually watched even though the description stated it was about "Giant Hopped Up Carnivorous Rabbits". It was truly a sad time. The reason it was so sad is that was the Best Show on all of Direct TV yesterday evening. Yep...giant hopped up carnivorous rabbits...My wife even watched it...but I had to chain her to the chair to make her stay..I have reached a new low... And now she's stated she's gonna make me watch... Dancing with the Stars! Holy Toledo

I think TCM has it On-Demand. I was going to watch it last night, but I wound up with another TCM winner - Panic In The Year Zero, starring (and directed by) Ray Milland. Ray and family (Frankie Avalon!) surviving a nuke attack on Los Angeles by taking to the hills. Pretty bold for its time, with rape and murder and Ray getting downright medieval when he had to.

Night of the Lepus is definitely a keeper, though.

That was a drive-in movie back in the late 70's when I was driving a '65 Plymouth Fury III 4-door You could get a LARGE cooler and several teenagers in the trunk for cheap dollar nights.

I do agree with that..but we have no other option other than the other satellite offering. We can't get any local(??) broadcasts. And as far as the local phone internet and TV provider...Nah..we are on the end of a line and are lucky to have fair internet service..not enough bandwidth for their TV programming..

That is the reason to buy a DVR. Record what you may want to watch that is playing at 4 AM or when you are at work, and have it available when ou want to watch TV.

Classic entertainment. Should be followed with another cult classic of the era, Death Race 2000.

I was wondering what that movies title was? I started watching it about 30 into it. I stopped after about 45, and popped in a Daniel Boone eppisode.

I remember a movie from way back(80s) called Toxic Avenger that we pirated off a TV programming in Baltimore. I thought it was one of the worst movies I had ever seen. We also pirated Plan 9 from Outer Space. it wasn't actually pirated..the company told us(bunch of firefighters) how to make an antenna to get the programming.. Worked great with no bad weather. They didn't last long and had some of the worst movies ever made in their repertoire. A LOT of terrible Sci Fi. And some pretty bad westerns too.

"Don't skip the Ray Milland /Sam Elliot classic "Frogs"."

When I took Herpetology in grad school, we had to do call surveys==identify frogs from their call at night. I learned from my prof that all (most) frog calls used in movies are Pacific tree frogs (Pseudacris regilla, formerly Hyla regilla) All of the frogs in the movie are taped tree frogs!

My favorite "B" is "Attack of the Killer Shrews" Runners up would be: Attack of the 50' Woman, "Attack of the Killer tomatoes, Twenty Million Years to Earth", "Creature from the Black Lagoon, and of course, Vincent Price's "The Tingler".
