Our Gander Mountain closed months ago. Camping World bought Gander. The store reopened as Gander Outdoors last week. ( it is next to the Camping World RV center alongside I-81). I stopped in to look around this afternoon. Was very impressed with format, variety of items in all departments, name brands, well lit, open and organized. Much better than the Gander Mountain store.

Did they have Yeti coolers. [emoji1]

In Marquette Mi, the old Gander Mountain,Gander Outdoors reopened, I have not visited yet, I did look at the at there website; the prices did appear to be reasonable. I have to got Marquette this week end so I will check them out.

I have heard they have reopened
Poor marketing. I have not seen one advertisement saying they are open
I have no interest in going

I remember years ago when they were only catalog, I bought a lot hunting clothing from them, another catalog I bought a lot from was Bill Boatman. There was a Gander store near my son's house in Va, it didnt last long, my favorite store bought the building, Green Top.

I get emails from them advertising the "lowest price" on ammo. The prices they advertise are decent - unlike the old GM pricing. Haven't been in a store yet. The nearest to me is about 250 miles, so it may be awhile. If I'm ever in a city with one I will stop in for a look.

Used to be a GM in Lubbock only 140 miles from me. That's pretty close by W TX standards. They had the biggest gun counter I've ever seen, but the prices were WAY high. The new owners did not reopen that one.

Yes, Prices seemed reasonable. Soft opening here. No big "Grand Opening". "Good Sam" club members receive an extra 10% off purchases. I was really impressed with their firearms department and how they had it merchandised. The old Gander Mountain gun area was cramped, not well lit and no rhyme or reason to how the shelves, etc. were located.

Same thing happened to the Gander Mountain west of St. Louis. Last time I was close, late last year, they were still a ways from opening. I've seen some discussion about that Camping World fella' not being all that gun friendly, but it may all be so much YETI/NRA kerfuffle. Looking forward to seeing what Gander Outdoors has to offer . . .

I'm guessing that is at exit 150, just north of Roanoke. Yes, the old GM wasn't all that great. I did see a Old Model Ruger .30 Carbine there at a decent price, but that was years ago.

Not sure if it would have been the same Gander Outdoors that I stopped at in that area (I was just glad to be out of Illinois!) but the one I visited looked like Gander Mountain all over again. That would been in early March.
