Last Wednesday I decided to go get my hair cut. When I stood up my left leg got pinpricks all the way to the bottom of my foot. I've had many surgeries on my back over the years and have some non oem parts holding my spine straight and this is the leg that gets the pinpricks once in a while but never the whole leg.
Two hours later after my haircut and shower I called 911, told them I think I'm having a stroke.
Long story short after three days, two hospitals, a cat scan and a MRI I didn't have a stoke Wednesday I had one previously that no one knew about and I now have a brain aneurysm that has to be monitored.

The worst part for my family 4-30-2024 was the date I had my wife's service and 5-2-2024 was the day my oldest daughter died.

That’s unnerving.I woke up one morning 5 years ago with a similar problem with my right leg ,blamed it on my back problem and thought it would straighten itself out. It didn’t so I went to the er the next morning and learned I’d had a stroke!

We sleep upstairs and leave the sliding glass door open all night. My nearest neighbor is 5 acres away and he came hat in hand to ask if our morning romantic escapes could be done with the door closed as he can hear it at his house. I had to explain that at the age of 72 our "romantic" noise making is nothing more than the sounds I make trying to get out of bed and straighten up, unfortunately.

That is hilarious!

Three or four years ago I was sitting on the edge of my bed when it felt like somebody slugged me upside the head. I stumbled out to the front room to check my blood pressure and it was through the roof. I called 911 and the ambulance took me to Hanover (PA) Hospital where I spent three days with no definitive diagnosis as to what happened. Happily they declared they found nothing organically wrong.

about 2 years ago I was in my yard tending to some flowers. I went to step back and something (?) didn't go right and I fell backwards like a tree. Immediately I felt a burning sensation across my chest. I couldn't move anything but my head for about 5 minutes. Eventually I regained movement in my limbs slowly but surely. Drove to the ER and got Xray's but the ER Dr. said they couldn't find anything wrong, and they sent me home. I put a call into my back specialist, he called me back the next morning and had me come right in. He took more Xray's and found 3 fractures between C1 and C7. Sent me directly to surgery, least I make one wrong move and become another Christopher Reeves. Post surgery I had about an 80% loss of proprioception. Had to reacquire use of hands, and walking via OT and PT. About 85% recovered now, which is 100% better than that alternative. Still working on being able to use my left hand to shoot with reasonable proficiency. Ehhhh, crap happens . . . . .
