Getting old ain't for sissies!

I’m so sorry to hear of your misfortunes. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
As to aging, after multiple back surgeries that left the soles of my feet tingling, shoulder and hand/wrist surgeries that limited movement & dexterity and a host of other minor issues, I’ll take them over the alternative. The one thing that does sadden me is the loss of old friends and colleagues. I notice that the older I get, the lonelier I become……
But I have my family, and that’s what count most.

Bearman, before your haircut, did you have to lie back while your hair was washed? If so, take a look at this:

It's an article about Beauty Parlor Stroke Syndrome, which can happen if your neck is hyperextended at a hair salon.
Sorry I didn't make it clear in my first post this happened before I left for my haircut.
Not only have I never had my hair washed at a barber shop before I've never saw anyone else get their hair washed at one ether.

As my father used to tell me: "If you're going to get old, you gotta be tough!"

Lordy, how right he was!!!

Some time in the last few years the gov has changed the weight and scales standards. Everything has gotten heaver than what it says on the box. Used to have no problem carrying a 24 case of water up stairs but now days that water is much heaver no matter what it says on case.

Last Wednesday I decided to go get my hair cut. When I stood up my left leg got pinpricks all the way to the bottom of my foot. I've had many surgeries on my back over the years and have some non oem parts holding my spine straight and this is the leg that gets the pinpricks once in a while but never the whole leg.
Two hours later after my haircut and shower I called 911, told them I think I'm having a stroke.
Long story short after three days, two hospitals, a cat scan and a MRI I didn't have a stoke Wednesday I had one previously that no one knew about and I now have a brain aneurysm that has to be monitored.

The worst part for my family 4-30-2024 was the date I had my wife's service and 5-2-2024 was the day my oldest daughter died.
i'm sorry for you brother. It isn't easy dealing with our mortality.
I'm dying and I deteriorate a bit more every day. I won't go into details but it sucks.

I love the thread. A grand old gentleman I knew used to tell me that regularly. He passed at 93 with two new hips, two knees, a shoulder, major back arthritus and was still had no quit in him. He finally succumed after they had taken his good leg below the knee and refrused him a prothstetic. What made him mad is they wouldn't let him go home and build his own in his workshop. He told me I would always know then the alternative beat the adventure. RIP Jerry you gave me a great example to follow.
Come to think of it I have got a good start, Prostate removed (cancer),triple hernia surgery, afib (three oblation surgeries). a heart cath (exploratory), crushed vertabra in a cage for 6 months and recently two new knees. Coming up at a time TBD a aortic valve replacement. Dropped over 21st of june no clue why 4.5 hours in ER and they had no clue way either. So following Jerry's example as long as I can walk, talk and shoot I am gonna give er till reaper chases me down.
